Tried this place with friends on New year's Eve. I should have been suspicious about the place when reservations were not required. When we arrived the place was only about a third full. A waitress snapped at my friend when she was not fast enough to select a table--and it went downhill from there. The only bright spot was our first waitress (Jennifer?) but unfortunately she left before our meal arrived--and we were never assigned a new waitperson. We did get served--the wrong food at the wrong times. The food itself was mostly OK--the Szechuan shrimp was the best we had and the only I would recommend. The final straw was that they gave me another table's bill. Needless to say I shall not be returning.

We eat here often, and having tried a variety of menu options, my best advice is to order what they do best ... pho. There are other restaurants who are better at some of the other menu selections, but I'll stick with the tried and true, and always delicious, "chicken noodle" pho. Never a bad choice!

Pretty good eats at decent prices. Kids menu has chicken katsu, gyoza, teriyaki, etc. reasonable prices. My husband likes their Sake Kama (salmon collar) and salmon skin hand roll. Their âspicy Josh rollâ is very tasty. Wonât burn your face off hot, but has a nice kick. Even our kids like it. I like the Udon soup and the king crunch roll is my fave. During dinner, service it can be a little spotty, apps have not always come before the entree. However you wonât go hungry because youâll have food to eat, just not always in the order itâs meant to be.
We recently had dinner here. Yelp has a 4.5 star rating, and we were not disappointed. We all loved the BBQ ribs, and my bimbibap and my husband's bulgogi were both fantastic. The service was top notch, and the waitress was very attentive. There was complimentary mango flavored ice cream at the end. Definitely worth a visit.

Our family has been coming to Ichiban for more than 15 years. It was for a long time the best restaurant in Morgan Hill. Great quality sushi, creative rolls, friendly staff, warm atmosphere and good service.I guess they just stopped caring.... My wife, 2 adult sons and I ate there last night, what a mess. My first suspicion should have been the lack of a crowd. On any typical Saturday night at 7:30 pm we would be waiting for a table. Last night the place was half full. We were shown to a table against the wall and right away I noticed the dirty tile floor with many cracked and shattered tiles. I was seated next to the wall and It was disgusting. The wall was stained with food and what I assume was soy sauce. There were holes in the wall chair height for a distance of 8 or 10 feet. I looked around the room and noticed all the walls were chipped. The tray that held the bottle of soy sauce on the table was dirty, sticky with dried sauce. We were greeted by the waiter who tool our drink and appetizer orders. My wife and I ordered Miso soup and the boys an order of Edamame. When he returned with drinks I looked at my water glass and my wife's soda glass, they both were dirty, chipped and cracked. The Edamame was soaked in salt, completely inedible and suffering from freezer burn. The Miso soup tasted as if it came from a powdered packet, the seaweed was spoiled and brown. I found something floating in the bowl, transparent and limp.We ordered a total or 8 rolls and they were all mediocre at best, some just downright nasty. The rice had a very strange consistency, mealy and chewy in a bad way with a sour after taste. The service was painfully slow which in a half full place I could not understand why.Our family knows good food, we have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the bay area and appreciate the effort made by the owners and staff to insure their customers come away with a wonderful culinary experience. I was not expecting a Michelin star quality meal, just a decent meal for a fair price. All I can say is the owner just lost interest in providing any semblance of quality. We will not return to Ichiban Sushi, it's sad since we ahve many good memories of great meals over the years. Morgan Hill is in need of a high quality sushi place and in the demise of Simmering Pho we also need a Pho restaurant that can match the outstanding quality of Simmering Pho.

It has always been overpriced. We get it. But the last time we ordered carry out, they got our order wrong. When we called and told them we were missing items, they agreed. After making the trip back to pick up our missing items, they told us they were not included and charged us, wait for it, $2 for miso soup. Horrible customer service. We will not return.

We're not sure if they changed management, or if they have new kitchen staff, but the difference is noticeable. Very friendly service (although a very small wait staff ... the lady really works!!), and the food has been fabulous the last three or four times we've visited. Absolutely no complaints, and we'll continue eating here.

This almost hidden restaurant is the only restaurant we have ever been to where it could not be faulted in any way. It is beautifully decorated, great ambiance, well chosen gentle background music, lots of space between tables, spotlessly clean, great polite service, excellent prices, and the two dishes we tried were absolutely wonderful. The classiest restaurant in Morgan Hill. They deserve to be successful.

I've become addicted to the lemongrass pork sandwich, coffee and a farmers market turnover for Saturday breakfast when I go to the Morgan Hill Farmers Market. You sit outside and enjoy the music and sights of the Market. It's a popular place and you may have to wait to find an empty table.

Where do I start? We went there on weekend. We ordered three dishes.. We ordered- mixed veggies with tofu, fried rice with no onions, and yellow curry with chicken.. unfortunately there was something wrong with EVERY dish! 1. Fried rice- instead of no onions, they left out all the veggies. We only got rice and eggs, they forgot to put in green onions or the tomatoes... Cool, that's fine, no biggie.. it's just a small mistake. 2. Yellow curry with chicken- curry was a little too salty.. and we never received our white rice. One of the waiters came by and said he was going to come back with the white rice.... he never came back with it and walked by our table multiple times..3. (This is the worst) mixed veggies with tofu- one of the staffs gave our dish to the table behind us by accident. I watched the people behind us try a few bites.. minutes later the waitress realizes that she gave the dish to the wrong table. She goes and picks up the dish and bring it straight to us. We told her that we saw the table behind us eat it.. I watched the waitress take the dish to the kitchen, then bring it back out and put it under the kitchen window. It sat there for a little while, next I saw another waitress bring the dish to the kitchen, then maybe a minute later our dish came out from the kitchen. I would like to think that they cooked us a new dish, but I really doubt it.. we gave the benefit of the doubt and tried it anyways. I was disappointed that they did't put my returned dish to their dirty dish bucket where our eyes could followed them to the spot.I won't say the food was horrible, but I can't say it was good either. They had 3 waiters, but it seems like they were so lost as to what was going on. None of the wait staff seem to have set sections, and always seem confused as to what goes to what table... Did I give 15% tip? Yes because I used to wait tables and maybe they were having a bad night. Am I going to go back? Definitely not.... I'm not going to chance it again. They are cheap people running the business. Farewell.
