McLean (/məˈkleɪn/ mə-KLAYN) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County in Northern Virginia. I go to this joint every few weeks as my job is right next door. Perhaps slightly steeply priced at ~$10 for a take away meal, but the food is delicious and the service is quick. You can pick the ingredients (meat choice, veggies, sauce) yourself where you get a number of selections for a fixed price. You won't regret going here - there's not really a nice seating area nearby to eat it, but for me that's not an issue as I take it back to the office anyway.

We had a Valentine's day celebration at the Sapphire restaurant. You come here for the taste of an upscale place, not necessarily of food, in the heart of thriving office hub of Tysons where restaurant clienteles are affluent. The staff is amicable and dressed for the occasion, decor is suave and tasty, tablecloth is spotless, air is odorless, and food is served in stylish china. As regards to deliciousness, there is nothing to complain but nothing to rave about either. We ordered the mixed grill platter as suggested by the waitress. Upscale places come with upscale bills, but it was still reasonable given its location and setup.

Stopped by because we wanted something familiar from our old days in the Washington area. We don't get good Chinese food where we live and we wanted good consistent food, which Wok 'N Roll has, in a beautiful setting. I had my usual Beef and Broccoli lunch special which was, as always delicious. My husband branched out and had the orange chicken, which he devoured. I tried some and while it was spicy, I found I could eat a piece or two. And the spring rolls, as we remembered them we crispy and oh so tasty. The best thing was the food was brought to our table quickly after we ordered it, and was not all that expensive. Thanks again, Wok 'N Roll for living up to our expectations.

Family run place that serves great food. Great food takes time, this is not fast food. We went on Monday so they had the spicy wontons which are excellent. The onion cake with dipping sauce is great too. We also had the ants on a tree and mapo tofu. Both were excellent.

This is a consistently good and authentic Chinese restaurant. It has an extensive menu with a section of more traditional Chinese dishes. The owner used to run Mr. Kâs in downtown DC, which was a very successful, high-end landmark among DC power restaurants. HOF is a more casual, comfortable neighborhood restaurant with excellent service and food, which continues the Mr. Kâs tradition.

Very nice cafe, good service, lots of parking, nice light shu mai, excellent roll up of seafood called Mr. Fuji. And yeah, that is how it is spelled. ;-)The menu is almost too long to take in. There is a nice assortment of sushi, but they also have nicely priced soups and even lasagna rolls. Not sure what to make of that.We started with green tea and shu mai, 6 pieces, very light taste of shrimp, nice starter. Garden salad was a bit formulaic but fresh. We got terikyaki chicken and Mr. Fuji, a dish that was almost a casserole of sorts made of salmon, rice and various other fish wrapped in tinfoil. Very tasty!I think I may come back for their soba noodle soup with shrimp. Looked great as it went by...

Not anything out of the world but consistent. Perhaps it is just me and Zelda but always summer roll, chive dumplings, duck rolls, and going wild this time had spicy ocean soup and her Mai Tai (Zelda not impressed), and instead of my spicy fish I went veggy for Ka-Prow. Anyway a good place to stop if in area.

With a wooden sign written in Thai language, "Esaan Restaurant," hung on top of the kitchen entrance, Esaan introduces authentic, unique, and exciting flavors originated in the Northeastern Thai region. Dreamed of opening a Northeastern Thai restaurant for years, owner Tu Yutthpon finally opened up Esaan in June of 2017, bringing locals and visitors healthy yet irresistible dishes! This place is a no doubt a hidden-gem. [Kai Tod Samoon Prai]While chicken wings are not considered a Thai traditional food, Kai Tod Samoon Prai is done with Thai herbs and seasoning with its iconic skinny wings. For easy-to-eat reasons, the wings are marinated and then cut in halves, so you only need to deal with one bone at a time. Just the perfect finger food and beer snack. Esaan's wings aren't the sweet and sour or buffalo flavored kind of wings, they are lemongrass seasoned and deep fried - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Kai Tod Samoon Prai is just the perfect starter![Somtum Kaikem]You cannot say that you've tried Esaan cuisine without having their staple, papaya salad. This restaurant serves various versions of the papaya salad. We got the Kaikem version, which came with duck eggs (salted eggs). The papaya was shredded in thin slices, and then pounded together with garlic, lemongrass, chili pepper, fish sauce, lime juice, and more ingredients in a mortar, creating spicy, sweet, and sour flavors all in one exciting salad. Lastly, Chef Ben mixed in half a duck egg to finish it with some saltiness. We loved the refreshing, garlicky, and chili peppery sauce coated on every bite of the juicy papaya slices. Absolutely delicious! [Tom Zapp Hed]This is a healthy mixed mushroom soup that is sour from your first sip till the end, keeping you awake the whole time! Its spiciness has a very herby flavor, probably because of the galangal and lemongrass. We enjoyed the mix of three types of mushrooms with three different kinds of texture. To some people, this soup can be an acquired taste if you are not familiar with sour soups. While it's on the strong sour side, the more we sipped, it seemed like that level of sourness gave us comfort and warmth. You may feel the same way if you drink this soup slowly. [Moo Nam Tok]No wonder this dish was named the best pork shoulder by the Washingtonian. The meat is tender with a sour and spicy seasoning that focuses on lemongrass flavor, and then you will slowly taste the tangy yet sweet combination bite after bite. It's so fun to grab some sticky rice with your fingers and roll it into a small rice ball, grab a little piece of the Moo Nam Tok, and just throw everything into your mouth. We enjoyed every bite of it, from the chewiness of the sticky rice to the exciting and tender pork shoulder meat. The sticky rice helps to calm the spiciness a bit. Definitely not as spicy as the somtum papaya salad, but it's got a kick that got us addicted![Kai Yang Esaan]The taste of this grilled chicken dish can probably be described as the Northeastern Thai version of rotisserie chicken. It's butterfly-cut, marinated over-night, and then grilled as customers order. It's fall-off-the-bone tender with a slight saltiness to it. It comes with two dipping sauces - [Kao Soi]This one left us speechless. Kao Soi is a coconut curry chicken dish with egg noodles. One gigantic chicken leg immersed in a creamy and coconutty curry sauce on top of a bed of thick and chewy egg noodles. It is suggested to squeeze some lime juice into the curry. This dish just wowed us and we stopped talking since we started digging into it. This is some serious, creamy, nutty, savory, and comforting curry with a super tender and meaty chicken leg. Jaw-droppingly delicious. [Pla Tod Samoon Prai]This butterfly-cut XXX fish is battered and deep fried without any seasoning, and then it's presented with a beautiful dressing that consists of fish sauce, chopped shallots, garlic, cilantro, and basil, and then sprinkled on some peanut crusts and mint leaves. It comes with lettuce for you to make your lettuce fish wraps. I would say that the combination of sweet, sour, and spicy is the characteristic in many of the Esaan dishes. This entire dish can be enjoyed with your hands, and it's finger-licking delicious. The meaty crispy fish that is coated with a sweet and sour dressing wrapped inside a piece of fresh crisp lettuce - all in one bite. I'm salivating as I'm writing this![Butterfly Pea Tea]This was probably the most refreshing floral tea I've ever tasted. I don't think I've tried purple drinks other than Chicha Morada, purple corn with pineapple juice at a Peruvian restaurant. This has a dark purple color, yet it tastes like lemonade with a floral aroma and flavor. It's served iced cold, so it just lifts the entire meal up to another level of yumminess!

We went there for lunch. The luncheon specials were quite reasonable in price and size. The service was excellent. The food was quite tasty. Judging by the number of Japanese eating there, it was a vote of confidence on their part. It was quite busy at lunch time. I'm looking forward to the next time I can visit.
