Me and my family have been coming to this place for over 15 years and it never dissapoints!Food is excellent and authentic and the prices are so cheap!!Love how the owner always remembers us.Can get really busy but once you eat here you know why!
Nice new restaurant in Mangere Bridge. The decor is quite basic however its clean and the important thing is the effort goes into the food.We had the fish cakes, money bags and gari puffs from the entrees. They were all delicious and we were particularly impressed with the gari puffs as the pastry was lovely, light and fluffy. Off the traditional mains we ordered 3 dishes - 1) Larb Sach Mon which I personally found a bit spicy but I am a lightweight when it comes to chilli. 2) The Amok was a total surprise - beautiful presentation and very flavoursome - heartily recommend this dish. 3) Lemongrass lamb was fantastically subtle in the flavours however I did find it a little odd how it was cut with huge chunks of bone. The meat itself was lovely however it was quite a bit of work for the meat. The service could do with a bit of improvement. I had been at the table quite some time and had to ask for water. We said we were going to share however we still had to ask for plates and cutlery in order to do so. The website and signs all advertise the hours as open til 10pm or til late however they were packing up around us and another large table at 9.30pm on a Saturday night and another small party came in wanting coffee and desserts however they turned them away. Staff had already started putting away the cakes from the cabinet - the large table of 10 or so beside us had not even finished their meals so hope they didn't want any sweets.Speaking of the sweets they looked awesome. Will have to go back just for them one day. Most are made in house and there must have been about 10 different items and a couple come from Rocket Kitchen. A couple of gluten free options also available. The restaurant is licensed which our party was not expecting so a little bonus to be able to have a glass of wine with the meals. The menu has a huge variety including western options which we found a little surprising but I guess they are trying to cater to more patrons. They were happy for us to split the bill and pay individually. Approx $22 for entree & main. Not that we needed this but they had at least 2 high chairs for little ones.

At Big Fish Eatery we take pride in serving a modern take on traditional Pan Asian cuisine. We are inspired by bold Asian flavours, beautiful produce and fresh ingredients to create authentic tantalising dishes. We provide a delivery service to nearby nei
It has been a while since I have been here for lunch and wanted to try it again as it has very good ratings on TA. I looked back on my previous review which basically said the food was disappointing and I found little had changed. We had the $20 set menu starting with the Miso soup. It did not resemble any Miso soup I have ever had an I did not especially enjoy it. The main, chicken teriyaki okay but no rave here either. As far as service goes, you feel you need to wave your arm around to get some service, appreciate that lunchtime is very busy but when you only have an hour times important.Hi John,Thanks for taking the time to once again review us.Sometimes, a concept like ours (being a pan asian eatery) is not for everyone. We take pride in only using the best quality ingredients, transforming them into beautiful dishes from all over east asia (pan asia) while staying true to traditional cooking methods but really showcasing every single amazing ingredient that has been locally sourced. You ordered one of the lunch sets which has been created as an affordable, quick alternative to our regular menu. The miso kimchi soup is a great example as it is more a soup than a drink, packed with tofu, edamame, homemade kimchi and of course miso. Long story short, weâre confident we could find a dish that you would absolutely love, as we have dishes that have a more classical approach. Just have a chat with us next time youâre in and we can recommend something that compliments your palate.

Fun fusion a mix of Japanese & Chinese cuisine XOONG, the newest addition to Aucklandâs thriving hospitality hub of Mt Eden Village offers diners contrasting flavours of Asia in a series of captivating dining rooms. Drawing from North East Asian influence
Xoong is conveniently located in Mount Eden village and has become our go-to restaurant for special occasions or with guests visiting Auckland. On every visit the knowledgeable staff have been helpful in explaining the menu of shared plates - small and large. Flavours are Asian and dishes are interesting with liberal use of spice. Stand-out on our most recent visit was the crispy squid. The restaurant has various comfortable eating areas, all of which were fully occupied on a Saturday yet the staff did not seem harassed. My only criticism is that for my personal taste, some of the dishes are rather too oily

Went for a quick bite to eat before heading off to the Paul McCartney concert. Got an ugly bowl and selected food from the selection on offer. We chose noodles and a selection of pork and beef dishes. Unfortunately the meat was so dry it was just about inedible, which made us wonder how long it had been sitting in the warming trays for. The meat in the wontons was also cold.Staff were friendly and the restaurant is very clean,

I have driven past this restaurant for a few years and never knew it was here! The garden setting is very cute with all the fairy lights. It's easy to forget you are not in Thailand. Service was prompt and professional, prices were reasonable, and the food was tasty. I would definitely go back again and it's a shame they are closing in December.

Itâs a cafe style place (pay at the counter at the end), the ambience is not great, tables and chairs a little basic and the staff are friendly-ish - could be more professional. As a curry eater I was surprised that they didnât use green chilli but the curries were good and tasty albeit had some flavours that we didnât recognise but that could be the masala mix.Beer choice is good. Price reasonable.
