Although my wife and I are not vegetarians, as our daughter is, whenever we visit her in California she takes us to vegetarian restaurants where we cannot eat non-vegetarian food. This was the first time my wife and I went to a vegetarian restaurant without our daughter. As Chinese food lovers we were looking for a good Chinese restaurant nearby for lunch, and we went to Veggie Garden following good reviews. We really enjoyed our food and it was difficult to say that dishes were vegetarian. They were very tasty. It is a small friendly restaurant with very gooed service.

While wandering around the Marriott Residence Inn for a place to eat, we passed up several restaurants on El Camino Royal, rounded the corner, and entered a small shopping center area across from "Chef Chu's", one that had at least a half dozen additional restaurants. "Su-Dam" looked intriguing and was occupied by mostly Asian clientele, a good sign for a Korean restaurant. Since they had room for us -- four adults, one young child and one infant -- we decided to take what seemed to us like a risk. There were some families there with young children but not that many since no one likes a kids-dominated dining place. They showed no reluctance in seating us after a one-minute wait even though it was peak dinner time on a Saturday evening. Our waiter was excellent, patient and adept at explaining the menu. Wait time was short, the portions were ample and everyone was extremely pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was. And hot! I had a marinated beef dish and (large) bowl of soup. The rice bowls came with an assortment of side condiments from spicy kim chi to sea weed and other items I'm unfamiliar with. The cost was quite reasonable and I would definitely return, especially now that I know where it is. Although I had not heard of this Korean restaurant before, I understand its apparent popularity.

Taken there for lunch last week, by a friend (Chinese-American). Just like Hong Kong, many Dim Sum dishes, pick & choose, liked all 3 we ordered (took some home). Fast service, very good value. Seemed very popular at lunchtime, almost full on a weekday.

We regularly drive one hour just to go to Sumo Sushi .... it's that good! The fish is fresh and tasty - the people that work there are super friendly and helpful - and .... they have sushi boats!! My 7 year old is obsessed with this place - he ends up getting a huge stack of his own plates. He turned into a different person here - giddy because of all of the sushi floating by him. And if there's something we want that isn't on a boat, they will get it for us - and they will even put it on a boat for him just because they know he likes the boats. This is our favorite restaurant (of any kind) in the Bay Area. We went to a sushi boat place in SF and it wasn't nearly as good. This is not a fancy pants place - it's a place to get good, fresh, unpretentious sushi. Love!!

I've previously written highly favorable reviews of Xanh, but my recent experience has caused me to reassess my review. As we all know, restaurants change over time: new cooks, new owners, etc. I went solo for dinner and ordered the Miso Salmon as my main (and only) course. When it arrived the fish was warm, not hot, leading me to believe that it had sat out somewhere between being cooked and my being served. I sent it back for reheating, but that's always a problem, and the dish returned hot, but overcooked. The server saw that I was not happy with the result. She took 15% off the check and said, "There's no manager on duty, and this is the most that I can do." To me, "no manager on duty" is a bad sign, and reflects a lack of attention to the overall experience. Even the least expensive fast food chains have a manager on duty.Given my experience with the food and the absence of a manager, it appears that someone has taken his eye off the ball. At least with the lunchtime buffet, it's easy to work your way around any dish that isn't up to par, but when you order a single item, you are stuck if there is a problem and no manager to help.

This is some of the best Vietnamese I can find locally for the price. San Francisco to has some very delicious and cheap Vietnamese but you have to spend time and the tenderloin to find those venues. This particular restaurant is in a great location right now on the Mountain View Los Altos border directly across the street from the San Antonio Shopping Plaza. I just love the food and the service here the place is always hopping and the staff is great.

The restaurant is tucked in Los Altos neighborhood. When our family have a small group gathering, we like to come to Akanes for dinner. There is an extensive menu to satisfy each of us. Some prefer sashimi, others sushi, and yet others tempura or donburi. Ingredients are fresh, well prepared and nicely presented.

We went here for a family dinner on a Sunday after watching a movie at a nearby theater.Dinner combinations and sushi are fresh, well presented and have great taste.Sushi Tomi is located in a quiet area of downtown Mountain View and is a very good choice if you are in the area.It is a somewhat small and popular restaurant with good service. In order to avoid waiting, we recommend arriving as the restaurant is opening.

This is a restaurant for non-Asians - the food was very American-Chinese. The restaurant is clearly a favorite neighborhood "joint" - very crowded, noisy, and difficult to reserve. As such the service was rushed - but no different from many good Chinese restaurants. Our disappointment was more with the quality of food -- very Americanized Chinese food, with a very uninteresting menu.
