Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Los Alamitos. Los Alamitos ("The Little Cottonwoods" in Spanish) is a small city in Orange County, California. The city was incorporated in March 1960. The population was 11,449 at the 2010 census, down from 11,536 at the 2000 census. It is often mistakenly thought to include the adjacent but unincorporated community of Rossmoor (population just under 11,000), which uses Los Alamitos as its mailing address. The Los Alamitos Race Course is also widely believed to be in the city; although it does have a Los Alamitos postal address and zip code, it actually lies in the neighboring city of Cypress.

We met family here to celebrate Christmas and enjoy good food. Our chef was very entertaining and the food was prepared well. Every now and then it's fun to do tepan as one can usually talk across the cooking surface and enjoy food too. The steak was cooked to order, shrimp was done fine, some ordered lobster which was underdone a bit. Overall it's a bit pricey for what you get but OK.

The black cod at a highly rated and expensive Japanese restaurant at Caesar's in Vegas was good. However, we found a better version right in our neighborhood in Cypress for half the price! Cypress may be known as hometown of erstwhile golf wonder Tiger Woods and for foodies, the US HQ of House Foods (Curry House, ubiquitous tofu packages sold at supermarkets, and partner of BCD Korean Tofu House), among others, I believe Cafe Hiro deserves greater name recognition. The entire menu with many choices is REALLY reasonably priced. E.g.: no menu-listed entrees over $30. Food quality and preparation are very good. We found out after seated that the chef was off on this Tuesday evening when we visited; the place was crowded nonetheless and our dishes were delicious. For appetizer, we ordered crisp whole dried shrimps, the daily special, (4 huge tasty shrimps with heads on for $8), Tofu salad, black cod, sea bass, spinach mushroom pasta and sea urchin pasta. The entree fish dishes came with salad (greens with yummy miso dressing, and pumpkin soup (too watery and lukewarm for my taste) served in a cup inexplicably without a saucer underneath. The atmosphere in this small restaurant (about a dozen tables) was nice. Service was adequate. I canât wait to go back again to try the Kurobuta (black pig) Pork.

We ordered the Tom Ka Gai (coconut milk chicken soup). There was a generous helping of chicken in there, the flavors were excellent with the lemon grass and lime leaf coming through. I requested mild spice, which wasn't spicy at all; next time I'd go for medium spice. We had the Tom Yum Gai (chicken and mushroom soup), which was also very good and flavorful.

I checked online for Chinese restaurants in my mom's area and found Red Wok. We called in enough for dinner for six people. Each item was very good! We had orange chicken (perfectly cooked and not too much breading), beef broccoli (tender beef), won ton soup (good flavor), shrimp in lobster sauce (excellent) and walnut shrimp (lightly breadly and nice sweet sauce). They delivered on time. I will definitely order from here again!

Stumbled upon it during business travel after seeing the reviews. Small, clean and super friendly & efficient server. Great lunch specials where you get 1/2 portions of pho or bunh along with salad. The jasmine iced tea is delicious. You can walk thru kitchen and see the deliciousness being prepared :) would go again

not many places on the mainland offer real island cuisine; but this little place offers the best in a sit-down restaurant or take-out. The grilled meat or fish and noodle dishes are excellent; and even the noodle dishes are memorable and delicious. If you don't like noodles, they do serve rice.

Waitress didn't speak English very well so communication was strained. Food was saturated in sauce and sushi we ordered was different than our regular place. We had a coupon but no need to go back in our opinion.

Girlfriend read the reviews of this restaurant and we had to try it. Located in a strip mall with narrow parking spots. We had lunch there during the noon hour on Saturday and we were the only seated customers most the time (another couple arrived later). Appeared most customers order to-go.Ordered several items with mixed results. The Coconut Dumplings ($12) were very good. Fresh ingredients and great presentation. We both enjoyed those. The Pad See Ew-Pork ($10.75) wasn't pork, but chicken. Small portion without much flavor. The Short Rib Panang ($15.75) consisted of two Rib chunks in a coconut sauce, with fresh vegetables. The Rib meat (no bone) was tender and the coconut sauce very good, especially over rice. The Mango Sticky Rice ($8) didn't meet my expectations. Disappointed. Can't put my finger on exactly why. Nice presentation but lacked taste.Cost over $53+ for lunch with only one thai tea ordered and stomach hoping for larger portions. Odd note: Suggested tip on bill didn't include tax in percentage, BUT suggested tip included tax (higher) with credit card payment. Two totally different amounts. Suggest you use only one.

This restaurant offers both gourmet healthy Chinese food as well as a few Japanese dishes (miso soup, sushi rolls). The menu shows the calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat content, and fiber in each dish so you are aware and can control your daily caloric intake. I've tried the Filet Mignon French Style which was delicious.

Nice large restaurant, very comfortable, and includes counter service. Food is NEW YORK JEWISH DELI style, so smoked pastrami, corned beef, tongue, salami, smoked fish, potato pancakes, matzo ball soup, Knish, borscht, and way so much more.Service is usually very good and was this time as well. My wife and I were there with my daughter, son in law and our grandson.Pickles came out first and were replenished on request.I had pastrami and corned beef on rye, called Randy's Choice. My wife had Chicken Salad on a Kaiser roll. Daughter and son in law each had pastrami. The place is less consistent then I would like, sometimes the meat is too fat or too stringy; sometimes the bread slices are too small. This time the bread was the right size and the meats were lean and melted in your mouth. The pickles, a free appetizer, were full dills. My 20 month old grand son ate most of the first plate of them so we asked for more.Food comes out quickly. The server stays nearby so we never waited for service. There is always a wait to be seated, but at the end of the meal you can go back through the restaurant and into their fresh bakery which is extensive and luscious appearing. We always get some cookies for my wife or kids. I usually buy a rye bread to extend the experience. I love this place and there is nothing better or even as good in Orange County or even south Los Angeles county.
