Simple. Healthy. Delicious. King Shabu Shabu is a Japanese hot pot restaurant where every diner is provided with fresh and high-quality ingredients to cook in their individual pots. Our proteins are sliced so thin that they cook within seconds. By then en
My wife and I visited for the first time recently. It was for lunch on a weekday and we had the place almost to ourselves.Itâs a spotless, attractive and comfortable place. The staff is really fantastic (friendly and helpful). Finally, the food itself was quite good. I really liked the fact that the meat selections are sliced and weighted-out right in front of you (if you sit at the counter, as we did). They also had Sapporo draft beer on tap (as well they should).Weâve had Shabu Shabu in Japan and weâve done it at home with a table-top butane burner, but this is the first time weâve had it in an American restaurant. It was better than I expected and I would visit again (unusual since I normally like to always try new / different places). The staff were very attentive / good. Theyâre why I rated this place five instead of four stars.

'have been enjoying exceptional Japanese cuisine here for years. The seafood is always first rate / sushi-grade and offered in numerous variations of preparations. 'have been fortunate to dine here often with Japanese friends and there is a 'Japanese' menu [in addition to their front of the house/official menu]. 'have tried the spectrum of their offerings and have yet to hit a missed note.Although their sake offerings are - somewhat, limited, they do have Sapporo Premium on draft and a full bar.Service can't be improved on, as they're most hospitable and genuinely care about how they're perceived.I can't recommend this establishment highly enough. They do luncheon specials that are of exceptionally good value; with their Bento-box luncheon offerings of beef, salmon or chicken teriyaki [either of which come with fried-rice, miso-soup, tempura shrimp and vegetables, as well as a choice of various rolls], for just $12.99 hard to pass up mid-day.Free/self-parking is available in the lot immediately out front of the restaurant and their menu is available on line/on their web-site [though not the highly variable, handwritten in Japanese menu; for that you'll have to ask when you're there].Japanese: "ä¹¾æ¯" (kanpai, lit. "Empty the glass", similar to "bottoms up" in English)

Being a vegetarian, Sushi choices are always limited. This restaurant has great options ... their combinations item for vegetarian on the menu has a great variety. Even my colleagues like the non veg options... the ambience is great and the place is very busy.

We love going to Tsukasa because, honestly we never have had a bad experience. For more than 25 years, we have celebrated our daughter's birthday in the main dining room and have enjoyed the food and the presentation. Recently, my husband and I decided to try the small dining room by the bar. Sunday's they open at 4 p.m and it was perfect for a quaint dinner for two in one of their comfortable booths. We enjoyed the same delicious food as we have always had and the service was wonderful. When I read reviews about Tsukasa being a bit "pricey" I compare their prices to other restaurants we frequent and I do believe they are comparable in price but excel in value. I had a hibachi chicken dish and my husband had the hibachi scallops. Both dishes were delicious but the Tempura Calamari we shared was exquisite. The price was less than in the main dining hall just because there was no elaborate presentation of cooking the food, yet the food was still outstanding. Tsukasa is at the top of my list of places to visit on any occasion. Like we said, "Why wait for a birthday?"
