Having been regular visitors of this cozy little place in Rohrbach for a couple of years now, we firmly believed the restaurant was the only happy exception in this country as far as service is concerned (great food, friendly atmosphere, host always smiling)... until tonight. As we stepped in hoping to enjoy one of their nice cocktails we were in for a shock: the host PUT US OUT (with a smile!) saying it was getting late and they were about to close - despite the fact that it was five minutes after ten (the opening hour are said to be till 11 pm), there were still visitors at tables, and all we wanted was a couple of drinks and no hot kitchen. Well... just another bitter disappointment confirming the rule. So, Germans, here is our message to you: it's time you learned the meaning of the word SERVICE!!!

Gourmet City is an Asian restaurant in Heidelberg-Rohrbach that opened for business in December 2016. It gets really busy on weekends - doors open for dinner 17.30 hours, and by 19.00 hours, the place is full so reservations are highly recommended. The premises is very spacious, with seating capacity of up to 190 guests. I already felt full just walking around the food stations and surveying all the food on offer!Thereâs "Sushi-go-round" - a conveyor belt constantly replenished with plates of edamame, seaweed, salmon sashimi, nigiri of various constellations and maki of various fillings. On busy days, the turnover is quick - the plates do not remain long in circulation. The Mongolian BBQ buffet is a highlight - there are at least 10 types each of seafood, raw meats and vegetables on display. Surprisingly, there are only 6 sauces to choose from. Some of the not-so-common items offered are baby octopus, crawfish, kangaroo, crocodile and ostrich. While waiting for the Teppanyaki "Grillmeisters" to cook your own concoctions, guests can help themselves to a variety of fried appetizers, basic dim sum, a salad bar and ready-cooked dishes. The warm dishes on offer are the usual suspects found in typical Chinese restaurants in Germany. Iâm not sure if the restaurant caters to the tastebuds of the average German, or if it is trying to sell more beverages, but all the dishes and Mongolian BBQ sauces are very salty.Guests are spoilt for choice at the dessert station - there are fresh fruits, a chocolate fountain, ice cream (18 flavors), cakes, jellies, puddings, candies, cookies - there are many kids buzzing around this station!Gourmet City's all-you-can-eat evening buffet with "Running Sushi" and "Mongolian BBQ" is priced at 15.90 Euro per adult, and 8.90 Euro for every kid under 10 years old. That is certainly value for money!

We had fantastic sushi (both fish and vegetarian) at this restaurant right in downtown Heidelberg. Service was attentive and appears to speak at least German, Japanese and English. Do not miss it if you are in need of a break from delicious German food.

Freshness you can see â passion you taste. Love is our secret ingredient. Anything but impersonal: You can find a piece of ourselves in everything we do. In the Bay Jok you are welcomed by different generations of one family under the same roof. The resta
The food quality was actually ok. You could taste they use fresh vegetables but nothing special. The sauces were good and the environment and service nice BUT the fish was overcooked, the soup was far too salty and the meat too dry. In overall we spend nearly 80⬠for two main courses one soup and two drinks which I found extremely over-priced. I would not come back.

We went here for dinner and Adnan took care of us at the bar. His drinks were excellent along with his service and attentiveness to our wishes. The sushi was fantastic with a special twist to it. Of course, being rooftop the view was fantastic. If in Heidelberg, you should not miss this!
