An authentic place for Southern delights. Moderately priced. Centrally located. Quick service. Avoid peak hour rush as the hall remains packed to capacity

We just walked out of the restaurant. Having studied Bachelors and Masters in Hospitality and having worked in the busiest of Hotels, I am not the argueing, angry customer. But my experience in Viha made me walk out of the restaurant. The restaurant was extremely busy and were understaffed which is understandable as it is Diwali today. Took them10 mts to find a table and we have no problems with that. Took them another 10 mts to approach us for taking order...no problem with that too, took 2 trips to the desk to get them clean the table... no problem with that too. No water was served and in the mean time other tables in the front were served with water and in one table even food. When the waiter appraoched us with our 1st plate of food, my wife asked him for water and asked him if we could move somewhere in front so that it is easier for them to serve. Our table was almost near the handwash area and due to a podium was not visible from the captain's desk. To this the waiter replied that where is the table you tell me? When my wife pointed to the empty tables he in a slighly arrogant tone said we are serving you with great difficulty, that table will is not clean, it will take 10mts to clean it. We said we are only asking a table in front so that it is easier for you to serve. The waiter again in a more arrogant tone said, So you will only sit there is it? This is where we lost our cool. It was the attitude of that waiter that put us off. A captain or a manager came and offered a very weak apology but by that time we decided it was enough. We visit this restaurant for the food, but i guess we would not step in again. Thanks to the lack of training for the service staff. Service gets delayed when busy but that does not mean they can show their stress on the customers. I hope the management starts investing more time in training their service staffs

We had gone to this restaurant, after visiting the temple as suggested by the driver. Some of us had regular Thali meals which they said was Okay. But two of us ordered for Sambar rice and vegetable Biriyani which was a big mistake. The sambar rice was absolute road side type with no taste and watery sambar. The veg.Biriyani had no flavour and had no salt and was very bland. we had to mix salt from the table which made it it somewhat eatable. I called the waiter and expressed my displeasure on this.
