6 pizza shops 4 fish and chip shops 5 bakeries, But only 1 chinese restaurant in Hastings. And thats the only reason Bamboo Cottage continues. The trip advisor graph says it all. Some dishes fine, but always has that Microwave reheated stale feel and flavor.Ill drive 8 klm to Sommerville now
Whether it is rice or noodle dishes we are after, the Noodle Canteen in Hastings never fails to impress on delicious taste and great local service. At around the $12 mark for a large noodle box, containing plenty enough to share, this Asian fare is economical, fun, tasty and a break away from the less interesting takeaway options in town. The staff are friendly, courteous, efficient and always happy to make our order to particular dietary specifications. Fresh ingredients always, as it should be! I'd happily recommend.

We celebrated a family birthday dinner at Arada and I haven't stopped singing their praises since. The staff are courteous and efficient and incredibly friendly. The menu items were very reasonably priced and positively delicious. My favourite dish was definitely the Pad Thai. I'd recommend Arada to couples, families or business diners as the best dine in restaurant in Hastings.

We had an extended family dinner here. We shared some dishes; and satay chicken was specially prepared for the youngest child. Ingrediants were generally fresh, but canned pineapple in the duck curry.Service was quick and very friendly. I was told the duck curry would be mild, but the perspiration on my forehead and burning lips indicated it was hotter than mild.We did not know about the BYO option. Good value with $2.00 corkage per person.

Spacious, spotless restaurant in Flinders with authentic Indian, Nepalese and Himalayan food. Clearly made by skilled chefs from fresh produce. Nothing reheated or from a bain marie here. We ate the fish tikka from a tandoor, then chicken and lamb dishes, with possibly the best naan I've ever had. Lamb in indian suburban kitchens can be dry, but not here, and the chicken and fish were in mild but fresh and fragrent sauces. This is as good as any of the notable Indian places in Melbourne. Well done.
