I came here with extended family for a night out, and the food's really the only reason I'm giving this place three stars. Everyone's orders were mixed up and they forgot someone's order entirely, and they added a refill fee for refilling someone's cup with tap water after he had been drinking seltzer. I've been here before and have experienced better service, so I'm not sure what happened this time. We were all having hibachi. I'm willing to give it another cautious chance.

You have to go out of your way to get to Thai Awesome. It's in a nondescript storefront and parking can be challenging -- there are two to three spots out front and a few in the back.Still, it's worth the hassle to come here for tasty Thai food that's better than anything I've had in nearby New Haven. At Thai Awesome, I had one of the five $8.99 lunch combos - drunken noodles with a siam roll, green salad and silver soup. The soup included fresh carrots, squash, broccoli and chives; the drunken noodle dish was prepared with red peppers, onions and a dash of ground hot pepper. The portion was not huge -- just enough for lunch.

I usually go there for lunch. The food is very affordable and very delicious. It is a family owned restaurant so be prepared to chat.18 month old Ryan comes over and pretends to take your order with his Uncle, total cuteness! The Lychee Martini is out of this world, it is a must try.

Small, quiet mom and pop restaurant. Husband is pleasant waiter and wife the chef. We were party of four on a Wednesday night and very quiet. Long list of nice sounding specials, nice slection of wine and beer. No hard liquor. They will make just about anything, spiced according to palette, with additions or deletions. Service was prompt and not pushy. Felt portions were quite small. The food was very fresh, but too salty (and I am a salt lover). My husband had same sentiment. The other couple we were with frequent the restaurant often and rave about it as being the best Thai establishment they had even eaten at. Felt that was somewhat overrated.

I usually order the yellow curry with tofu and am never disappointed. Small business with 1 chef. He takes pride in providing quality food. Be careful if ordering delivery. It could take a while. Unfortunately I ordered for delivery once and waited for almost 2 hours. When I called back I was told that they couldn't find my house so instead of calling me they and asking for clarification or letting me know the dilemma, they simply went about their business. That was my only negative experience with them. The food is really good though.

Staff very knowledgeable about gluten free dining which is hard in an Asian restaurant. Waiter put other members of our parties food on the table and told my daughter, who is gluten free, you can't eat that. Very impressive

A quiet, pleasant, interesting place and menu, an environment that encourages exploration of different tastes, served with the greatest of attention. Glad we found this peaceful luncheon/dinner venue. I had a scallion pancake that was fabulous. The noodle choices are sublime. You won't be disappointed.

Stopped here for all-you-can-eat sushi on the way home from vacation. We were a little nervous walking in because the neighborhood did not seem so great.Once we walked in it was a total different world. The service was great. Everyone was friendly. The food was fantastic. Great value! Would definitely return.

Cute placeLong time since visited lastLovely staffGreat drink. Measured, but en pointe. Food: must have been an off night!Stuffed pepper was supposed to be temp hot with chicken, shrimp, and rice. Rice was okay, 2 morsels of shrimp, dried out brown chicken and a scrap of sausage. Not good. Skimpy. And, it took sooooo long for an app that I could not bear to stay for more. Sorry. Not again, for food. The original parent restaurant that was in New Haven was always superior and a labor of love. Tapas involves a ton of prep and layers of cooking. Not evident at this visit. No value.

We did take out and it was full of ups and downs. Service was very confused about finding the order. A lot of no, no, no, here it is on the counter. Pork dumplings, good. Bangkok dumplings, very good. Pad Thai, pretty good. Very good start! Summer rolls were still in the plastic, weird. The chicken satay were much thicker than expected and one of them was flat out raw inside. Thatâs a problem. Doubt weâll do anything beyond future dumpling cravings. Too bad.
