Very typical local soy flavored broth with sliced roast pork ramen.Get there a little early as it is very popular with locals, and the line can get long. But the customers leave pretty quickly so it is worth the wait.

Kaiseki (multi-course) style specializing in high quality sushi. Seasonal menu with locally grown vegetables.
We had visitors in town and we wanted to treat them to a truly exceptional sushi experience...Nakamura-san and his family definitely delivered! The sushi was amazing, but my favorite was the seared scallops. Highly recommend sitting at the counter, only about eight seats though, so you can watch this Master Sushi Chef at work. They have additional seating and also a room that can seat about 20. We've found a new favorite sushi spot and will definitely be back. Nakamura-san, domo arigatou gozaimashita...oishikatta. Kondo mo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

Featuring vermillion-lacquered walls and a bridge. Passing in front of the garden lantern and waterwheel and walking on the steppingstones, you will find yourself back in time in the town of Edo, the Tokyo of 200 years ago. Away from your daily grind, our
Tofuya-Ukai-Owada, 2-18-10 Owada Chou, Hachioji is one of the 10 or so Ukai restaurants in the Tokyo area. Each is fairly unique in its menu, setting and architecture. Because the principal dish served here is tofu (bean curd) in many of its different modes the cost of food is relatively low for the restaurant and the price for customers is quite reasonable for what you get. 3,680 buys the standard meal which is excellent and the top menu item is about 6,800 yen.The setting is charming, a new building but strongly influenced by traditional Japanese architecture and style. The food is excellent and the service equally good. You can look it up on their web site ukai.co.jp/English/index.html. I strongly recommend reservations, my wife books for us but I would think they can handle a booking in English, just take your time and be patient. While you can drive there, the directions are a bit complex and I would recommend taking a taxi from Hachioji Station either the Keio or Chuo Line station, about 1,800 yen as I recall.I have also eaten at two other Ukai restaurants in Takao, Ukai Toriyama and Ukai Chikutei which are substantially more expensive, but with an even more impressive setting. My firm recommendation for an introduction to fine, but reasonably priced traditional Japanese cusine is their Tofuya in Owada Chou.

Ukai Toriyama welcomes you with relaxation and comfort after enjoying Japanese nature hiking at Mt.Takao. The restaurant features several examples of traditional Japanese Sukiya-zukuri architecture in its extensive 20,000 m² garden, You can admire the che
Made our way to Mt Takao for a morning hike before we took the free shuttle from the train station to the restaurant. I am not easily excited about any restaurant but the theatre provided by this restaurant changed my mind. The immaculate gardens and the landscape made one feel connected to Nature. Upon arrival for lunch, we are led to our private pavillion, the short walk from the reception was an eye opener. Such serenity and the grace and service of the staff is commendable. We had the charbroiled chicken and carp sashimi meal. Taste and texture were spot on. Worth the long trek from Tokyo if have time for lunch, itâs certainly worth it!
