Chose to visit Gt. Yarmouth for one night, a Monday night, which seems to be the night that many restaurants close. Not-so-great Yarmouth was disappointing this time. I've been there a few times, but had never noticed so many beggars and such a feel of sad decline. I'm not a prissy eater but I found it extremely difficult to find anywhere that might sell fresh and healthy food, that was actually open. This town was built on the herring trade; you'd think it could give us a 'heritage' foodie reason to visit.So we were delighted to find Pando; comfortable, clean and friendly, with a really great pan-Asian menu. We had pork dumplings and spicy chilli chicken to start, szechuan chicken and char-sui pork with ginger and spring onions to follow; the beer and wine was good and reasonably priced, £4.95 for a cold 660ml Budweiser.. ...............Maybe Gt Yarmouth will do a Hastings one day, but in the meantime head for Pando.

Holidaying in the area we decided to look for an Indian take away for tea.How lucky we were to find this place within a mile of where we were staying.Delivered to our campsite 15 minutes before the allotted time. Very pleasant gentleman keen for us to enjoy the food.We needed the food to be gluten free and they took this really seriously. Not everyone does but these guys were spot on.The food was delicious. I can't speak highly enough of it. In summary, great food, brilliant service and attention to detail. Prompt delivery.It couldn't have been better. After having a takeaway from here before on our last visit to Caister and it being absolutely gorgeous,we were really disappointed this time around. The bhajiâs were hard and crunchy and looked like they had been cooked several times,the Tikka and Shami kebab didnât have much taste and the curry was just full of tomatoes and hardly any meat, for the price it really wasnât good enough. I appreciate it was a large order but the standard has definitely dropped here,if we return to caister and fancy a curry we will be looking elsewhere.

I like to visit this restaurant whenever I'm in the area, and have used it for many years,and with good reason. The food is excellent, with good flavour and portions and value for money. The staff are always friendly and helpful and create a great atmosphere. If you're visiting Gt.Yarmouth this restaurant is well worth a visit.

With over 100 reviews i can only comment on what I've experienced, i read reviews where people give 5 stars and criticize the cost, that's not 5 stars!!!!!After checking TA for a good curry house near where we were staying we chose Planet Spice. We arrived Friday early doors, table for 5 please, they were not that busy in the restaurant but a good vibe.Sat down just before 6, checked the menu and ordered some drinks, drinks came and we ordered 4 mains, chicken tikka massala, chicken tikka biryani and a prawn pathia.My biggest problem was the waiting time, we were waiting an hour for our food, one table of 4 came in after us, had starters and mains before us.......what is going on here. I approached the main desk and asked to speak to the manager, i explained the issue and my unhappiness, he blamed it on a busy takeaway and started to walk away.....how amazingly rude of him....i'm even less unimpressed by now and made my feelings known, i asked him again how long and he said 5 minutes.10 minutes later the food came and it was great, one of the best pathia's I've ever had, good rice good nan's, all very good indeed, we cleared the lot.Price was not bad either £62.95 for 5, no tip, no chance.As i said at the start it's an overall experience and although the food was fab the service was not, i would normally only knock one star off but as it was so bad and the waiting I've knocked 2 off.What a shame, work on the service lads, there's enough of you, food was great!!

What a meal.... absolutely fantastic. Raj and the crew there were great. But the food was fantastic. Well presented, tasteful and really good portion sizes. I pass this about 8 - 12 times a year and have only just ventured in.... but now.... so glad I have. One of the best Indians I have had in years......
