I am always so impressed with everything at Sukhothai. From the service to the food it deserves 5 stars! We dined there with a group of 9 and everyone was happy My favourite thing about this place is the open kitchen concept they have. It has to be one of the cleanest kitchens Iâve ever seen!
We love this type of rice, as it's more traditional. It's an acquired taste that not many westerners might enjoy as the salted fish is quite strong in its taste. But when mixed with the fried rice, it's lovely (for us anyway). It reminds me of the food I had as a child. Tried some of the other dishes that they offer, but found them to be disappointing, especially when compared to a place like the Pineapple Patch. Still, it will be my go to place for the rice that I love.
So many choices - everything looked so appetizing. We had Sushi Rolls, Crab claws, Fishcake - absolutely delicious and also opted for some Edamame (fresh green Soya Beans).Again a nice lunch - you cannot go wrong to experience this Japanese Sushi Rolls and other dishes.

We made reservations for the pineapple restaurant last night,On arrival the young waitress found no booking recorded,She explained that it wasn't a problem as long as we were happy to site near the kitchen door (very noisy)The staff sounded like they were over run with the takeaways so the dine in appeared to be served inbetween orders. The starter's arrived about 15 minutes after placing our order. We found it to have little flavor. When the main arrived only 1 of the 3 dishes we ordered were delivered. As we waited the kitchen staff sounded like they were shutting down, then one for the staff asked if we had received all our meals,(no!)The kitchen staff didn't sound happy as we heard the burner fire up.Unfortunately same thing, little flavor with the main meals perhaps it was because they were done in a hurry. The restaurant seems to be a bit of a hit and miss, and unfortunately this time is was a definite miss.

I cannot praise too highly the taste sensations the chefs delivered. Both our two entrees and two mains were out of this world. We chose the Beef Tataki and the Ocean Trout entrees and then the Quail Curry and whole fried Fish for mains. They were all so very good but I think the salmon was my favourite by a very small margin. On the downside I thought $70 for a bottle of wine rather expensive and the same for a cocktail at $19.00.Dear ebonygirl,Thank you for recently dining at Spicers Tamarind Retreat.I will be sure to pass on your feedback regarding your meal to Dan and his team of chefs. Our wine and beverage menu has been created in consultation with Peter Marchant, Spicers Group Sommelier. Our list has an extensive range of wines, some of which are not easily available to the public. We hope to be able to welcome you back to The Tamarind Restaurant again in the near future.Kind RegardsRyan DillonGeneral Manager
