This asian restaurant offers a great selection of freshly prepared dishes (and you can see the chef prepping them), Samosas, chicken tikka starters, chicken dansak (upped to a vindaloo strength), dupiaza, main dishes with mushroom bhaji and bombay aloo side dishes - it was a great meal, good service. Will be back next visit to the village

The Thai Kitchen Restaurant & Takeaway is a family run business and was opened in early 2001 in Shaftesbury, Dorset. We serve authentic Thai cuisine which brings together the variety of tastes and spices of Thailand. All our meats are locally sourced and
Thai Kitchen is primarily a takeaway establishment and I have praised it before on that. This review is for their small intimate restaurant which my wife and I enjoyed very much. You don't have to book, but it is strongly advisable especially on weekends, not that it gets busy, but because the takeaway side does, and the staff are extremely busy serving that side. So, if you book, you are at least taken care of in terms of certain priority over takeaway customers. If you don't book, you will just have to accept that you will be served as and when they get a gap between other customers. If you are in a hurry however, don't eat in the restaurant as the service is quite slow - but to me very civilised as we, in this country, seem to get into a restaurant with the sole aim of getting out as soon as possible instead of enjoying the experience. As per my previous review, the food here is excellent - right up there among some of the best Thai restaurants I have been to in different parts of the world.Do yourself a favour and book the restaurant for a really enjoyable evening meal.

They do not have a website of their own but are a well-established business.
We are within walking distance for takeaway or eating in and we are never disappointed. The food is great quality and consistent whenever and however many of us there are. Eating in, it's small but the atmosphere is friendly and the service is always attentive and friendly. They have stopped trying to guess my 'usual' because I no longer have one - the menu is great and the only dishes I don't order are the ones I find a bit too hot for my palate. The only criticism I have is that in the summer, the restaurant gets far too warm for us to be comfortable eating in. We end up having a takeaway and eating it in the garden at home though so it's not a bad thing. If you don't have that option (ie have driven to eat there), it could be a little stuffy on a warm day. Well worth a visit.

Second visit to this restaurant although we live some 25 miles away. This recent visit was most enjoyable with the ambiance just right. The food is tasty and served well. Waiters were very attentive without being obtrusive and the prices are reasonable.

We dined here one evening on the recommendation of the B and B we were staying at. What a recommendation! This was, without a doubt, the best Indian restaurant we have visited. Really comfortable, efficient and helpful service and absolutely superb cuisine. Our food - the sea-bass for my wife and the lamb curry dish for me- was the best Indian food we have tasted. Outstanding! Wonderful! Such excellent value for money. We will certainly return if we are in the area. Not to be missed!

Good value, tasty lazy dinner. First takeaway from this chinese and really enjoyed it. Everything was hot and tasty, Lady taking order was friendly. Only slight negative was my crispy chilli beef wasn't crispy but i understand this can happen when sealed in a container. Overall very good.

Located in the square at the bottom of Gillingham High Street, Gillingham Tandoori offers freshly cooked Indian cuisine. We welcome parties and group bookings, as well as walk-ins. All of the dishes on our menu are also available to takeaway. We are fully
It was our 1st time here as our local was fully booked so thought we would try somewhere different. After reading reviews on here we decided to take the plunge and give the Gillingham tandoori a try.We wasn't disappointed, on first arrival, we said how cosy it was, it was busy and most of tables were already taken. it was very clean and the ambient lighting made it feel more homely etc. There was a huge menu too choose from, catering from very mild to extremely hot.there was 3 of us in our group, and we had a mild dish, medium dish, and a hot dish. The food was spot on and could not fault it, the portions were big and the meat was cooked just right. when the food arrived we were left alone, and not rushed or bothered by the staff.when the bill came out, it came with chocolates and a coffee/baileys shot, which was a nice finishing touch too the evening.it was pleasant evening and we will definitely come back again.
