Our family wanted to try a different Chinese restaurant in or near Germantown so we looked on TripAdvisor and a few other places. We found House of Fortune and looked at their online menu. Everything looked good. We called and gave our order for pickup. We got egg rolls and spring rolls - all crispy and perfect. We also got wonton soup - tasty. Our entrees from the menu were pork fried rice and combo lo mein. We wanted some other things that we didn't see on the menu so we asked. They said no problem with ordering both beef with peppers and pork with snow peas. The nice lady who took the order said we should always ask if there is something we want that we don't see - they will try to make it anyway. We enjoyed all the dishes. Everything was ready within a few minutes and they included plenty of sauces for the egg/spring rolls. Good food, good service - what more could you ask for? They have some tables but it seems like it's mostly carryout. We spotted various dumplings that we want to try next time. We picked up our food but they would deliver up to 5 miles away - for just $1 (it's on their website). The price was reasonable for all the food we got. We ate all we could and there was enough for several more people. We will definitely return.

Small Family Owned Restaurant In Germantown
Love this place been going for 20 years. Has general Tsao chicken and an egg roll for dinner. Enough to have lunch tomorrow. The egg roll was very nice also. Just my favorite place.

For a dreary, cold, rainy Sunday, we decided to look for a restaurant that sells soups or pho. We decided to stop at this restaurant and try their dishes. We ordered small bowls of pho with different meats, fried spring rolls and those that have spam inside. These appetizers were served with 2 pieces which we shared. The wrappers used for the fried egg rolls were quite unique, very crunchy! The other appetizer was served fresh with pieces of spam under the greens. We also ordered grilled pork that was served with rice and slices of carrots and cucumber. For dessert, we shared an order of the flan. The total of our foods and drinks is about $47 plus tip. We 're impressed with this restaurant and will definitely go back to try their other dishes.Tip: After finishing your meal, go to the counter and pay your bill. We waited for our waitress who was busy serving other customers. Learned that you pay at the counter when done eating your foods. We're surprised with this process since most Vietnamese restaurants we've been to require that you pay first when you order your foods that are later served to your designated table.

Size Matters! That's the theme of this review. This was my first visit... and now I'm pissed at my sushi-loving friends for never mentioning this place! The sushi was fresh and very good... but the portions, oh my... I wish I had known before ordering how huge the portions would be.I guess I have been conditioned to sushi places where rolls are half filled with rice and sashimi ala carte is two band-aid sized slivers of fish. The portions here blow that away. We ordered the volcano roll and alaska roll - both much larger than we are used to and packed with big hunks of fish.I also ordered salmon and yellowtail sashimi ala carte. Each serving had two big slabs of fish... about 3/4 inches thick. It took me 3 bites to get one down. And it was fresh and delicious. I'm hooked. Now... it's not inexpensive. The bill was a little bit more than we are used to paying... but we over ordered since we did not know about the portions. If you love sushi... try this place out! You will not regret it!

I started buying their sushi at a local Asian market and that and recommendations of friends led me to their main restaurant. Now is is my preferred takeout sushi place. The fish is always fresh, the portions are on the large side, and the prices are reasonable.

I order from here at least once a week. I love their food, the prices and they deliver very promptly. The Avocado Sushi is amazing, as it is the salmon avocado. The spring rolls, the dumplings, the bento box. There hasn't been anything that I haven't ordered and I haven't liked.

Within a five mile radius, there must be a dozen or more chinese restaurants, and I've tried most of them. They range from just okay to inconsistent to very good. Cafe Hong Kong is very good. But, of course, that's strictly to my tastes. Different people, different tastes. What I like about CHK is their consistency. The food is uniformly good, well seasoned, and consisent. Seldom any surprises. If I have any criticism, it is the fact that "hot & spicy" dishes have been dumbed down for the American palate. If you do prefer those dishes with some heat, make sure you let them know. Or, if you're ordering take-out, ask them for a small container of hot oil.Another plus is the fact that the staff is easy to communicate with, which in some other restaurants has proven to be a problem.Bottom Line: By all means you should try this one. And be a little adventurous; if you see something on the menu that you've never had, order it. What's the worst that could happen? (chuckle)

Yuraku is a decent Japanese and sushi restaurant located in a strip mall in Germantown. The food is good, the decor satisfactory. I like that they deliver.Their specialty rolls and lunch roll combos are great and a good value.

Nothing to write home about. Food was mediocre. Pineapple chicken and shrimp was bland. Dumplings advertised as 10 steam or fried. You get 6 and they came from a factory obviously frozen. Not worth the money. Place was clean parking easy.
