We took the plunge and put ourselves in the capable hands of our hostess Angela. She listened carefully to what we said we wanted and did not want, and then brought us the most amazing succession of exquisite bites and morsels we think we have ever eaten. Japanese with a Basque twist results in mind-blowing things like tuna belly and tomato crush, and foie gras on a wonderfully crispy patty of fried rice. Incredible carabineros too. All brought to our table at a perfect pace and with useful explanations. We cannot recommend this place, and Angela, highly enough.

Spanish cuisine is not known for its vegetarian friendly options, so we were recommended to go here by most "top ten vegan places in Bilbao". And normally I'm not too picky about the ambience or atmosphere of a place, but La Camelia really does appear to be under construction and I am not a fan of some DIY vegan culture nonsense that leaves your building half-built and forces your guests to sit next to MDF shelves with bins on. Presumably they think this is authentic. They don't sell chips, you can only buy the burger, which for the size I thought was expensive. The staff don't do English, which I obviously cannot blame them for but made ordering from their roughbook joke of a menu difficult. Essentially, I tried to walk out of here when we first went in, but was forced to return when we realised it was twenty minutes to the next veggie place. The food was adequate, but I would not return.

I´m living in Bilbao for 16 years now and apart from the wonderful basque cuisine, it´s really hard to find a variety of international flavours. However, this restuarant is breaking the mould. Every now and again, every 2 months maybe, they have a special night for an international cuisine. Last night´s turn was Pakistan. Wow!!! Absolutely amazing. Genuinely it is great to find a place in bilbao that offers exotic food abundant with spices and culture. A great dining experience that is made even better by the friendly and accommodating staff. I would recommend it to anyone who is in bilbao and wanted something different yet authentic.

Indian restaurant in Bilbao. ndian cuisine consists of a wide variety of regional and traditional cuisines native to the Indian subcontinent. Given the range of diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic groups, and occupations, these cuisines vary
Disappointed. Definitely not a true Indian restaurant. Curry sauce seemed to be pre prepared and the lamb was not tender. Naan bread was half cold when brought to the table and service was very poor. Nobody asked if you wanted anything or how your food was. Probably 1.5 rating rather than 2 if I am honest

No seating at this hole in the wall sushi place. We ordered the one person pack and overall taste was ok but pricey. Wouldn't come back again.
