My husband is from China, and he cooks amazing Chinese food. All authentic and not Americanized. however, i think all the Chinese abroad will miss their food during vacation and when he cannot cook, he will want some Chinese food. Not much choice in Deland so we picked this place, I think my Sesame Chicken was good, not super but good. But he thinks it's average and he hates the heavy sauce they usually put in all dishes.

I love their sushi, it is always fresh and delicious. The service is great and they are always fast and friendly too. Plenty of seating, they have a bar where you can watch the person making the sushi for you. Everything is always good, never had a bad meal yet.

It's not easy to find an outstanding, or even "above-par" Chinese restaurant in this general area. We returned to Won-Lee today, hoping it would be better than the so-so experience of a few months ago. We were disappointed again. The egg rolls had a thick, fried hard shell and the contents lacked flavor. Sweet and sour pork, again, had a thick, somewhat hard batter that tasted like bacon grease which overwhelmed whatever flavor may have been lurking in the pork. The "sweet" part of the "sweet and sour pork" was in a separate bowl of red sweet sauce. The fried butterfly shrimp were large but chewy and tasteless. Not wanting to add further negativity, this review will now go no further. Sure wish we could find consistently good Chinese food in this area. The best we have found boils down to a couple of "take-outs."

This is the old Deland Hotel, a 19th century mansion. The back of the first floor was made over into a small restaurant that includes outdoor seating in the back yard. The building is serious Deland history, and the restaurant management did a cure job of decor. Of course the most important part is the FOOD, which is uniformly wonderful! Service is very good and even when the place was crowded we never had to wait too long for food.I recommend highly!Wow!! Thank you so much for all your kind words! We are so happy that you see all the details that we worked so hard to achieve. Please come see us again soon (:

Small place but great food! The grill pork sandwich is the best in Central Florida. We've tried several places and the family agrees that we always go to Deland for the Banh Mi. Service is usually fast and friendly. We would highly recommend and will be back again!

I have been to Thailand several times and they had delicious Thai food here. The Lop Gai was great! Surprised waiter by speaking Thai to him. They also serve some tasty Japanese cuisine (I happen to live in Japan). They were very gracious in seating our large (9 people) party. Convenient bar across the street while waiting for our table. HIGHLY recommend this little gem, if you find yourself in Deland!!!
