Dalkey (/ˈdɔːkiː/; Irish: Deilginis, meaning "thorn island") is one of the most affluent suburbs of Dublin, and a seaside resort southeast of the city, and the town of Dun Laoghaire, in Ireland. It was founded as a Viking settlement and became an active port during the Middle Ages. According to chronicler John Clyn (c.1286–c.1349), it was one of the ports through which the plague entered Ireland in the mid-14th century. In modern times, Dalkey has become a seaside suburb that attracts some tourist visitors. It has been home to writers and celebrities including Jane Emily Herbert, Maeve Binchy, Hugh Leonard, Bono, Van Morrison and Enya. I visited Michie recently in Dunlaoghaire as it's local to me and I have always intended but never got the chance. I love my Sushi but would be very particular where I eat it. This ticked all the boxes. Full of awards and lovely friendly staff who seem to love their job. It's basic. No bells and whistles but lovely food. Look from the outside and you would be reticent but it's worth the risk. A lot of local take away coming and going which keeps it ticking over and more importantly FreshThe Irish touch I mean is it's staff. A lovely young lady who smiled and just wanted to make you welcome

I've been using Lee's Kitchen since the 1980s and generally it's the best Chinese take away in the area.Try the King Prawn with ginger & Spring onions, which is my go-to option.Prices are still pretty competitive at approx â¬10.Duck cantonese style (served on a bed of Pak Choi) is also delicious!

This is the typical Chinese restaurant you'll find anywhere in the world. It's very average.Starting with the deco and the plastic towels in the tables to the food there's nothing special about this restaurant.The food, is not bad, but it's not good. The portions were ok but the food itself is no different, bad or worst, than any other chinese.The staff was nice and the price was ok.

This was my second trip to Sichuan in Sandyford. It is in my opinion the best Chinese restaurant in dublin. Lovely bright and modern surroundings. Excellent service and superb food. Good portions. Not cheap but you absolutely get what you pay for. Canât wait to go again. A great restaurant.

Was delighted when a Indian take out/restaurant /delivery opened locally...gave me the chance to get my partner to try some flavorsome food...started him off with the korma and then the masala and even as far as the jal fraizi...it was out weekly delivery treat and alone with a naan and rice did us two nights dinner...In the last few months we noticed food was arriving cold ,giving it the benefit of the doubt ..then noted that the portions ,not so much sauce and naan bread etc but the protein ,chicken went from about 12 medium sized chunks to 7 smaller chunks ...again we gave it the benefit of the doubt,our last order about 1-2 months ago arrived by Deliveroo cyclist,usually was a lovely driver,and again was freezing cold...having to microwave our delivery again has put us off ordering ...sad to say as it was a lovely treat at the end of the working week ,hopefully we will try again and not have to microwave

This is a gem in Dalkey. Tonyâs knowledge of wine means he has provided a terrific range of choice - both tastes and prices. Ask for his advice. The food is true to its roots and beautiful. Special menu (great choices and price) available at all times. Exquisite choices a la carte. Once you visit it will become a regular haunt as it has done ours. Everyone is welcome. Take the DART to Dalkey. If nothing else, call in for a glass of interesting wine.

Lovely food and I had a Korma which was particularly nice. The food was very tasty and not over hot which was a relief. They do a thriving takeaway business too. Would certainly recommend it

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Dalkey. It has delicious food-they are tasty and have wonderful subtle spices. (huge helpings!) It is also excellent value for money. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. My new favourite restaurant in Dalkey!

Wonderful atmosphere in this well run restaurant. We tried the sampling dishes, three meat or fish and meat and one potato.. I donât eat chicken so chef prepared a duck one for me. My dining companion said itx was the best of all six dishes. I thought the prawns were super delicious and thatâs what Iâll have next time. We love nibbles and the amuse bouche.
