Nice service from beginning to end at lunch. Tasty clear soup and pleasant, small salad. Hibachi chef put on an entertaining show through both cooking display and interaction. Filet mignon, shrimp, fish, rice, and noodles were very good. Filet mignon was requested medium but was served without any pink center â still good, no complaints. Items hit the plate in stages. If you wait to enjoy everything at the same time some items may cool a bit during the process. I would suggest eating as soon as items are placed on the plate (not sure if this is proper etiquette). Portions are decent size. Lots of rice. Enjoyed the chocolate souffle for dessert. Soft shell crabs ordered for take-out during the visit were breaded just right and very appetizing. Hibachi tables seem to be available as soon as they open. Good size parking lot. Modern, clean, relaxing décor.

A lively, small sushi restaurant in a rather dull main street in Rutherford.I was surprised to find such a great sushi place by coincidence. The SERVICE: Quick and polite. The FOOD: We shared three rolls - Volcano, Tataki and Banzai. All come fresh and with plenty of "stuffing" - meaning not only rice and very little salmon, shrimp or crab. The card offer a lot of variety. Only minus was that I had to drink Pepsi and not Sake as I was driving.OVERALL: We will be back, hopefully not driving next time so I can enjoy some sake to accompany the delicious dishes. My warmest recommendations to this new favourite

We've been going here on and off for 15 years. It has always been better than most northern NJ Chinese places. On this visit we found the food over salted even though we told the waiter "very little salt". This doesn't fit our liking or our health.

A relatively small place with fantastic food. Went there for a friend's birthday, everything that we ordered was top-notch. Appetizer plates are suitable for sharing (probably for 3 people) and the chive pancake was a highlight. It's BYOB but there is a liquor store literally next door. Tip: ask how spicy a dish is because some of our dishes were quite spicy. I'm not sure whether they can alter the spice level but they will definitely give you all the information to make an informed decision

We drove to our regular place and found it was closed for good, so we searched and went to Dai-Kichi for the first time based on its online reviews, and we were VERY happy we did. Food was excellent - we had the seaweed salad and sushi-sashimi deluxe for 2 - and the service was outstanding. We had a choice of different sakes; my wife had a hot sake and I had a cold one, and we were both impressed with the quality. The location is right across from a Montclair train station, and also near a local movie theatre. Highly recommended!

Small rolls, interesting flavor but you can see them skimping in ingredients. The prices are like Robongi in Hoboken... but the quality is nothing near! Pay $60 and come out hungry after mostly eating... rice! Come on... give the customer some quality ingredients in a reasonable (sufficient) quantity!... I am a 115 lb female... not 200lbs... do I think this critique is reasonable!
