The place is a fest. The chef walks around and gives advice and takes orders in a friendly way. The combinations of sushi, sashimi and all are outstanding, a cocktail to the eye. A fiest. And yet, affordable.Always always full and no booking. But you can book your place in the line!

Thanks TripAdvisor for helping us find this gem! Tokyo has so many options to eat, itâs hard to know where to go, especially if you just want something simple, delicious, no frills, not a tourist trap and loved by the locals. Located on the basement floor (of an office building?) this is definitely a place not to miss for all of the above. We ordered a Yakisoba and the mixed Okinomi-yaki, gets served in the tables built in hot plate so you can get involved a little. It may not have the finesse of a fine dining Sushi and sashimi place but you canât dine like that every day and this place had the vibe, the freshness and the flavour so make sure you go.

As I was visited one of my clients in Nagoya, they recommended me to go here and have some Hitsumabushi. This place offers you the very best Unagi dishes. Lots of my foreign friends who did not want to eat eel said they never thought eel is so delicious.

Ippudo, our ramen restaurant, was first established in 1985 in Hakata, Fukuoka. Currently in 2017, we have over 100 stores throughout Japan. In 1990, our founder, Shigemi Kawahara, entered the Hall of Fame for winning the the ramen competition of the show
We went along for our first experience of Ramen. Great buzz about the place and very friendly staff. We shared a bench with some other locals. We had both pork and chicken ramen and they were really good. We were hoping for thinly sliced beef but it wasnât on the menu. Really good value and a great experience - we would go back but probably for lunch next time.

Had a feast here and loved every bite. We ordered mostly from their hand-written specials of the day menu. The king crab legs were our favorite - they were HUGE and fresh. Best I've ever had. Highly recommend the scallops and chili prawns as well. This place is a must if you are visiting Tokyo, and I'm pretty sure you need reservations because this place seems popular with the locals! Loved the food, the vibe and Andy himself - an overall perfect meal!

Fortunately for us this restaurant was just a few blocks from our hotel [Royal Park]. We didn't realise that this was part of a chain until leaving and asking for a card to apply this review as it seemed so uniquely independent. After all the Ginza shopping this was so tranquil but as we didn't book they accommodated us and we had only a 10 minute wait. Out intention was to go for Shabu Shabu, as this came up as number 1 of 10 on a Tokyo website, but when they showed us a flyer describing the difference between Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki all in perfect English - we chose the latter. The meat was fabulous and so were the mushrooms, I'm now convinced you have to go to Japan to find out how a mushroom should taste. A great sense of occasion as all the cooking is done for you at the table. Perfectly timed and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.

Vegan Ramen
A gem of a vegan ramen shop buried in a far corner of crazy-busy Tokyo Station but soooo worth finding. Hint: ask for directions to the Uniqlo shop, go around the corner past the food store where hawkers are vying for your attention waving signs, then settle yourself at a small cozy table in this extremely popular cafe and prepare to slurp delish ramen with a sherbet chaser. The YUMMO factor is off the charts!
