Reviews on Asian food in Can Tho, Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Can Tho is the main city of the Mekong Delta, the "nine dragon river delta" where the Mekong River empties into the South China Sea. It's also the main transportation center for the region. The extensive canals make for a pleasant boat ride, and the nearby floating markets offer authentic goods and exotic local fruit. *Fly into Ho Chi Minh City International Airport where you can take a car or van (approximately 4 hours) to Can Tho.

... we've had so far in Vietnam. The food was excellent. We ordered the beef with lemongrass, pineapple rice, pork ribs and mixed vegetables and every dish was very good and fresh. The owner, Mickey, greeted us personally and gave recommendations. The waiting staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely dinner! I wish we could've tried the expansive bar menu but we were just too full. ;) Btw: the restaurant specializes in beef.

Service wasn't really good, unfortunately the staff spoke just a little English, so communication was a bit difficult.the food came quickly after ordering, we had three different dishes which have all been good where as they weren't special. Prices are cheap.

Go here if your craving some western food. Heaps to choose from and variety for all. Would recommend for a family who would like different dishes for each member. Good cold drinks and beers

Please dont come here with an expectation of the best food place in Can Tho. As somebody wrote, the food is not authentic, spring rolls frozen from supermarket, menu large as any European asian fast food but half of the menu is not available. The taste of some dishes is very good, some of them pretty average. Waitress/cook confused the order, guests neglected.

I've been here many times for lunch, the foods are very local flavor, hygiene and good price, vegetables is fresh and servers are friendly. One more thing I love this place is the clean and modern toilet. Upstairs is a spa with lovely price

L'Escale offers a selection of French and Vietnamese cuisine with a view of the river from the top-floor terrace of Nam Bo Boutique Hotel. Our bread is home-baked and you may choose you wine in the cellar: why not complete your meal with a plate of cheese
After reading many positive reviews, we decided to give it a try, something different, for a change. The prices are easily 10X more than the local restaurants in Can Tho. Ambience was cosy and relaxing. Nice river view on the 4th floor. Weather was gloomy so no sunset. The house red wine, Cab Sauvignon was decent. Service was attentive since we were the only guests arrived early. We ordered the seafood steamboat as recommended by the waitress. My son opted for Western, pan-roasted duck breast with mushroom sauce, as recommended by the waitress too. The steamboat was not bad, but itâs with some sweetness in the soup (tasted like a sweetened Tom yam soup) that wasnât appealing to me. Portion was just nice for 2 pax (we are not big eater). My son liked his medium to well pan-roasted duck breast, served with french fries (what disappointment for a dish @ 320K dong). Hubby tried it and commented âgoodâ. The restaurant wasnât crowded. Didnât hear any music played in the restaurant. But the roof top Bar on the opposite building had loud music, kind of annoying and ruined the atmosphere. My desert, cream brûléeâs was nice. However, my hubby and son had bad diarrhoea on the same night, few hours after the dinner. Poor them as we didnât have medicine and no pharmacy in sight. Hotel staff with poor and close to none English. I didnât have any problem (the only dish I didnât eat was the duck breast). Not a good experience for us, except nice photos with river view lol. Dear Carrielow.Sorry you did not find what you were looking for. Gloomy weather doesn't help feeling happy, either.I am sure you will understand we cannot serve french cuisine at Cần ThÆ¡ street prices. But then, if you compared, you may have tasted the wrong street food? Street vendors, especially at the night market, are notoriously unreliable, and I can't see how duck magret with fries, if this is the only plate you didn't taste, may have put your man and son at risk. We would usually serve it cooked to pink and I expect not with fries. Was it a special order?Anyhow, I hope your party is feeling better and that the weather gives you more reason to cheer.Take care along your journey,Benoit

This had a high Trip Advisor rating, but still I had second thoughts when I saw it. Don't worry, go in. Food was great, staff spoke a tiny bit of English and the prices were amazing. I think they are getting lot's of business now thanks to TripAdvisor, but continue to offer great value, congrats to them. Nice to support a small local business and get a great tasty meal (don't forget the cold beer!) Then you can walk the waterfront and see the tourists paying 20X more for food not as good.
