Bayleaf Balinese Restaurant has been a well loved and highly regarded restaurant in Cairns for many years, serving authentic Balinese cuisine. This multi award winning restaurant offers a true dining experience. Head Chef Made Upadana was trained in Bali
This was our second time dining at this wonderful establishment and we werenât disappointed. The restaurant is off the tourist trail, so you only get locals and people in the know or staying in the vicinity eating here. The food is wonderfully flavoursome, service efficient and ambience is cosy. Bookings are advisable on weekends and we prefer terrace dining when the weather is favourable. I personally have no desire to ever return to Bali, but would willing return there in spirit by eating here whenever Iâm in Cairns. Check it out.

Iâve just finished my meal here, and it was superb. Easily the best currys I have eaten in Australia, and the service was wonderful. I will definitely be recommending this to any friends visiting the area and I will definitely be eating here again when I next visit Cairns. Thank you Spicy Bite!

Whilst they are not located in the city centre, they are well positioned on Mulgrave Road. The family have run their business successfully here for many years. I think they have the best Thai in Cairns personally.

Wow what an absolute treat it was to eat at this buzzing Vietnamese cafe. No wonder the place was absolutely packed for a Saturday lunch. The food is amazing and so authentic, and the prices are super reasonable. There is everything here from banh mi on the lightest roll ever, to curry to generous bowls of noodle soup brimming with flavour. One of our friends ordered the large bowl and it was enormous so unless you can eat enough for several people the standard size is recommended and will probably still be challenging.A fantastic experience and donât be daunted by the queue for a table. It moves along reasonably quickly and the food is definitely worth the wait.

New restaurant at Camp Hill is a great addition to this shopping complex. Nothing fancy about the venue but food is fresh and full of flavour. Only complaint.. main dish was a little cool. They are very busy with takeaways so maybe it was sitting waiting for awhile. I was too hungry to send it back

If you like the Gordon Ramsay style of cheffing with lots of Afro vibes from the Chef this is the place. The staff were all doing their best with a controlling, hostile boss. It was so awful it has taken 4 months to write the review because I suspect he would find a way to have it removed. The food was terrible... authenticity bad, home cooking. Plates of bean shoots and boiled chicken in a murky broth. Could not get out of there quick enough. No ambiance, had to ask for air conditioning to be put on on a sweltering, sticky, humid night. Dear El,We are not quite sure what you mean by "Affro vibes" as the chef/owner is actually a classically French-trained Philippino. Our small, loyal staff are treated very fairly by all management and if you believe you saw something unfriendly then that is a kitchen issue. The customer is not always aware of all the things that need to happen to get high quality food to our customers. Our 24 hour clear chicken broth is a very popular dish, it comes in a large bowl with a whole poached chicken Maryland atop a mound of wombok, beanshoots, dried garlic, spring onions, bok choy leaves and stems, definitely not murky. We strive to provide a peaceful enjoyable ambiance at all times. You mentioned you visited 4 months ago, while it was winter time, we don't usually run air conditioning in winter but will always accommodate for customers particular temperature requirements if at all possible. You must have been very disturbed to have chosen not to post your review for four months. In the future if you have issue with an establishment the best policy is to discuss your concerns immediately with management to give them a chance to rectify any problems.

Being Wonton Soup fans Jenny's kitchen was recommended to us 2 years ago by friends. We were impressed straightaway with the quality, taste and freshness of the food as well as the great service provided. Maggie and I always stop in for a meal here which has become our milestone. Highly recommended

There are some restaurants you need to revisit to reassure yourself they are as good as you have experienced previously. SONO is an exceptional restaurant that achieves 10/10 on every level. Lunch today was exceptional. The service exceptional. The atmosphere exceptional. The food 11/10. It is a place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the busy CBD. Parking is easy. Close to Brisbaneâs International and Domestic Airport. This quote best sums up SONO....âAt its best, Japanese cooking is inextricably meshed with aesthetics, with religion, with tradition and history. It is evocative of seasonal changes, or of oneâs childhood, or of a storm at sea.â

Seated outside on a gorgeous Brisbane night, we had stellar service to match the stellar meal. From perfect classics, such as fried rice, to true fusion delights, bbq duck and cherry crepes, the food was the star!Three street food plates, two salad plates, one share plate and a side were more than enough to sate the desires of four hungry adults and two 'starving' kids (one a teenager)!Well worth a visit!

Gala Thai represents a vibrant alternative to the authentic Thai and Asian restaurants in the area and is aimed at the discerning diner. The menu is consist of Thai and Asian signature dishes as well as a selection of vegetarian options.
We had a dinner there this week with three couples and I was disappointed as I had excitedly told my family that we were going to Trip Advisers number 1 restaurant in Brisbane. Our food was average. The barbecued pork was dry, tough and had little bones in it. My daughter who is a chef was unable to eat it. Overall none of us l had the special night wee had prepared for. We did like the electronic menus but somehow the restaurant made a mistake and tried to bring us out extra meals that had been duplicated from our order. Hello GenaC383, We wish to begin by thanking you for taking the time and effort to leave Gala Thai West End a review. We value our customers immensely and the feedback in which they provide helps us improve and excel as a restaurant. We were extremely sad to read your review, we pride ourselves on sourcing quality fresh ingredients and use local produce. We rely upon this to help create our extensive menu which we are very proud of. We apologise if you felt the quality in this visit was lacking. This is the opposite of what we aim to achieve as a restaurant. We look to provide our customers with an experience of great food, amazing atmosphere, and fantastic service. We would also love to gain more insight into what dish you ate, and also what dish that we bring you extra, trough this we can use constructive feedback to improve and progress.
