My wife and I dined at Canton Chinese Restaurant recently and had a very pleasant experience. I started with fried dumplings -- delicious! -- and then we shared one order of Mongolian Beef and one of Szechuan Pork and Shrimp combination. The portions were exceedingly generous -- we couldn't finish both dishes. The preparation and spicing were excellent, not as hot as I normally prefer Szechuan but very tasty. My wife is allergic to garlic and the waitress and chef were very accommodating of her request that our food contain no garlic. The only downside of Canton is that they do not have an alcohol license -- 'twould have been nice to have a glass of beer with our meals, but the hot tea was very good. The restaurant is not fancy, but clean and pleasant.

Our first visit, and we were so very impressed. Once past the modest exterior facade, we found the large interior to be bright and attractive. And, the food was some of the best Thai we have had in memory. The Garden Roll was fresh, and included plenty of basil. The Lemon Grass Soup and Papaya Salad were equally fresh and tasty. The Green Curry Chicken had a thick and creamy sauce and the Pad Thai Chicken was large portioned. If we lived nearer, we would be dining here frequently.

I am not bragging, just putting my comments into perspective. I've been able to enjoy sushi from the California coast to the Eastern Shore and this may very well be the best sushi restaurant i have ever been in. In Lexington Virginia at that. The food was fresh and tasty. The specials, which I typically don't order were so creative and the ingredients paired so well I ordered one a second time. I love this place and wish I lived closer to go there more often.

We eat here several times a month. Although the inside is very outdated, they always keep the buffet fresh, by cooking small amounts at a time during slow hours. They carry a variety of different asian dishes and two soups. The only thing I would like to see changed is their selection of desserts. Self serve beverages, but they do come out and pick up your empty plates. Friendly service.
We had found the "Golden Garden"-now its name (last year), under a different name. Same location. We parked just up the street and noted the parking along the way. It was Saturday night, but we did fine. The restaurant was clean looking and large enough to accommodate all 19 of us. BYOB. The sushi Chef's presentation was amazing. We had many different dishes. The servers were very helpful and nice to help us split up the checks.
