This Indian restaurant is under new ownership and recently re-furbished with a slight change of name from Zaffran to Saffron Lounge. We pre-booked for a week-night tea-time and were intrigued to see the new decor which is a subtle fusion of different cultures. There are fabulous rose-gold Moroccan-styled light shades, a bubble wall behind the optics and a contemporary designed interior. It was our first visit to the restaurant so we were unable to compare it to the previous decor. The restaurant extends quite a long way back so there are plenty of tables. It was not over busy the night we visited. There seemed to be a wide choice on the menu, including a few veggie options for my vegetarian friend. We started with a pickle tray and poppadoms followed by a vegetarian korma and a lamb passanda with pilau rice and a naan bread to share. Everything was tasty, hot and well cooked. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The staff were very friendly and kept checking that everything was OK but were a little over-keen to remove plates before we had completely finished! We asked for the sweet menu and sadly there is none yet! They need to get a freezer apparently. Sorry, but had to mark you down for that! We were a little disappointed but ordered more drinks instead. The total bill was about £43 with drinks. The bar bill was totalled on the hand written bill so it was a little hard to work out what we both owed as one of us was on wine and the other on soft drinks. However we coped and will be quite happy to return another time.

Ate here recently and had some excellent dishes; definitely a cut or two above your average Chinese restaurant. The mixed starters for two people were superb. They do two quality levels for these, standard and "supreme". Go for the more expensive "supreme"! Then two main course dishes with some steamed rice (a duck and a fish dish, admittedly both perhaps in a somewhat higher price band, but really well worth it; both generously proportioned). At that point we were well-fed. Recommended.

This is a lovely Indian restaraunt in Barton, nice friendly staff, clean and tidy eating area, we both like spice and this does not disappoint, nan bread really good, onions on chutney tray a bit different though, they were just raw onions with cucumber but nice.

Hessle's best kept secret hawwa indian restaurant will offer you a wide range of Indian cuisine all tailor cook to your own liking
We have been hear in the past and have not been too impressed, although we liked the BYO na\ture of the place. However on Saturday we (a party of four) all had really good starters and mains, all were different and all were tasty. So having not been here for some time due to poor food ( we had some dire takeaway around New Year we would now try it again. If it keep up this standard we will go more regularily. Great that it remains BYO.Decor is still a bit garish however and when full is very noisey.

Thai Restaurant offering casual dining in a small and cosy, 300 year old High Street property. We are home cooking and simple menu.
Fabulous food cooked to order. Great service and cooking from the owners, we have been three times now, working through the dishes. Enjoyed everything we have had so far, and we shall be back for more. Definitely try the mixed starter to share, it's almost a meal in itself.

Friendly staff, decent prices and food is generally very good. A little disappointed with the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style recently due to lack of chicken but everything else is always very good!

This Place Is Wonderful But Near Empty When We Went, really Needs A Mention.
fancied an indian, someone had recommended here so wanted to try it out. made a telephone order which was taken clearly and quickly. i arrived and its a tidy place and would like to eat in sometime. we had the pickles and popadoms...which was spot on. my main was maybe not quite as good, something just felt it was missing. i don't have indian often so not something i can compare easily. i would give them a second chance and try eating in sometime.
