Feng Chophouse is Downtown Hartfordâs premier dining experience. Each time we set our table we invite you to join us for the refinement of fine dining and the flare of a modern casual environment. Our mission is to showcase our passion for service excelle
Feng Chophouse is located on a side, somewhat narrow, one-way street in Hartford. There is a parking lot across the street -- a bit pricey at $10 for two hours, but there is also street parking (metered) available. Our OpenTable reservation was immediately honored. We were offered seating in either the bar or the main dining room -- we chose the dining room and were seated at a nice table. The remodeling -- the restaurant was closed for a period -- is quite attractive, although it is somewhat dark (as seems to be the way of most steakhouses around here -- J. Gilbert's, Fleming's, Morton's (in its day -- sadly gone)). The service was efficient and professional, although not particularly warm. We ordered hand rolls prepared by the sushi chef -- my husband was quite happy with his California roll; the quality of mine was much better than anything I would get at Westside Market (Rocky Hill), but I should have ordered a vegetable roll, rather than one with shrimp in it (as it was a special occasion). That said, this was a taste preference on my part -- not any failure on the part of the restaurant. My husband ordered a filet from the chophouse menu. He thought it very good, although it didn't have that steakhouse flame-licked taste, which he would have preferred. I ordered the Korean BBQ short rib with slaw -- the short rib was as tender as could be; the sauce on it was very good (although I wish there had been more of it (and I would ask for a side of it now knowing)); the slaw was truly excellent, although the chef could have left out the cauliflower/green broccoli florets and the brown, largish-romanesco broccoli, which sadly looked like a turd (and was a distraction from an otherwise attractive presentation of the plate), and added more slaw. We also ordered a side of the bacon fried rice, which featured candied cashews -- this was a home run! We didn't order dessert -- we headed to Rocky Hill for ice cream at Scoops & Sprinkles to celebrate my husband's birthday. The acid test: would I go back? Yes, we will go back -- maybe once or twice a year. The bill came to about $130 for two -- no alcohol, no desserts, which was a bit on the pricey side, but not necessarily out of line.

Emaculant cleanliness. Customer service is on point. We booked a reservation and were seated promptly. Hibachi Chef was friendly but his performance level was okay. It seemed as if he was a back of the house Chef they used do to a shortage on staff. Plate presentation was nice, food was good just needed more flavor. We did have a issue with an appetizer being under cooked but it was quickly replaced with no issue. Since this was our first visit, it deserves another. Every place has a day that isn't top notch.

I'm a big fan of Thai Palace, but was happy to see another Thai restaurant open. I hope that the location won't be a problem, since the past few in this spot didn't survive (Little Mark's BBQ and Shuman's Deli to name recent failures). The menu is very varied, and lunch is a great deal. Soup, salad, spring roll and entrée (most with either white or brown rice) for $7.95 (a little higher if you choose beef or salmon). The concept is great - choose your dish, then select your added protein. This is what makes the menu options so plentiful. The food is very good, and obviously cooked to order. The vegetables are crunchy, and the flavors are excellent. I did find the vegetable soup served with lunch very salty. The peanut dressing on the salad was very tasty. The spring roll was larger than usual, but a bit greasy, but also tasty.I've been there twice, and it's been sparsely populated both visits at lunch time. The one waitress is sweet, but oddly also works at the shoe repair next door, and actually was running back and forth between the two locations when I was there this week.Go for the food. I doubt you'll be disappointed. We need to see another successful Thai restaurant in town (actually any successful restaurant in that location would be a treat).

Bloomfield location of Sake Cafe restaurant chain.
What more can you ask for? Our "go to" place for Japanese food. Favorite appetizers are Rock Shrimp, Beef Negamaki and chicken lettuce wraps. All the rolls are the freshest I've ever had. Entree of red snapper tastes like it just jumped out of the ocean. Mango chicken is a flavor explosion. Try something new. You can't go wrong.

We order from them, cause they deliver. Not the best food, it's drowned in sauce, sometimes doesn't seem fresh. But work in an office near by and they deliver and the lunch deal is cheap. If you want cheap, average, Chinese food delivered to you, this is your place.

We went to Ginza many times, or ordered take out. The food was very good, and reasonably priced. It is a little noisy, but you can hear a conversation, even near the hibachi area.
