Where to eat Asian food in Barna: The Best Restaurants and Bars

June 15, 2020 Oliva Fomby

Reviews on Asian food in Barna, Galway, Province of Connacht. Bearna (anglicized as Barna) is a coastal village in Connemara, west of Galway city in County Galway, Ireland, on the R336 regional road. Once a satellite of Galway city, the village is now rapidly becoming one of its suburbs. Officially, the village is regarded as Irish speaking and is therefore a constituent part of the regions of Ireland that make up the Gaeltacht. However, because of its absorption into the city, it has recently become a mainly English speaking village. Nonetheless, Irish is still the main language of its western and northern hinterland and the village has now effectively become the gateway to the largest Irish speaking region in the country

Had the early bird menu which was good value and tasty. Was quite authentic and we've experienced Thai cooking in Thailand.Service, ambience and staff very good.We were a little apprehensive as we've had some poor Thai meals outside Thailand but were pleasantly surprised. Would recommend without hesitation.

Squid starter and Vietnamese prawns to follow, best food I have tasted by far.. Three of us had different dishes but we were all very impressed. The service is spot on and the price is very reasonable. Place was non stop busy, so very popular. Lots of awards on the wall outside this place attributed to its food.If ever i was to return to Galway, I would most certainly eat here again and sample more of their delicious food.

This past July, we were 2 Texans on our honeymoon in Ireland. Wanting to get away from the very crowded main street with all the restaurants, we walked all around the city searching for a delightful meal. It's easy to ignore restaurants that don't have the quaint outdoor seating but I sure am glad we did. My husband found great reviews for this place and led us to a doorway with a staircase going straight upstairs. I wasn't all that stoked about it for some reason but I was hungry so it was fine. The second we turned from the top of the stairs I noticed how cute this little restaurant is and how the locals obviously liked it here. It didn't seem like a tourist hot spot at all. We were lucky enough to get a table as a 2-top had just left. The waiter and the host/owner(I think) were very kind and hospitable. They genuinely seemed to enjoy their work and be proud of their offering. My husband ordered the pad thai and I ordered a crispy chicken pineapple something or other. OH MY GOSH it was soooo good. I was blown away. The plate of food was huge and I ate every last bit. These guys are the real deal. Come here if you like Chinese food and you will not be disappointed! :) No joke, I will remember this meal for years to come.

We love Asian food, so we decided to try also this restaurant, since from the outside it seems really nice. We went there on a Tuesday evening, so it was quiet and relaxing. The food was amazing,I don't like to eat spicy and I was surprised when I discovered that my chicken curry wasn't spicy at all, as the owner suggested! The staff was super nice, the owner was very friendly: we also spent 20 minutes chatting and having fun with him!Super recommended!

A nice restaurant for authentic Indian food. Staff were very friendly and polite, and it was clear that they had regular locals who came in for takeouts and eating in too. The restaurant was clean and we were served quite quickly. I had the saag paneer and my friend had a madras which they asked for it to be made spicier, which they did. The price of my dish however was a little expensive considering it was only £2.50 as a side and I was charged £11.95 because I asked for it as a main. On later examination of their online menu I noticed that it was under the vegetarian menu for £8.95 so I'm not sure why I was overcharged here. It could perhaps be because I asked for the paneer to be cubed not minced. The dish however was very tasty and sides were very nice also. The food appeared to be cooked from scratch. For example My saag was not from a tin. There was ample parking right outside the restaurant too but I can imagine it would get busy at the weekend.Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of Spiced Barna, and we appreicate your kind words regarding our staff and cuisine. We are very sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the price of your main. Unfortunately there was a small misunderstanding, and we apologise for the lack of clarity regarding our pricing- when you ordered this main as vegetarian, it deviated from our set menu, so we priced it on the spot; and furthermore, our online price for these dishes is cheaper because they are for takeaway. We again apologise for the inconvenience and we hope to see you again. Kind regards,Spiced Barna
