Was traveling in Rapids and dining alone. Hesitated to order the 14 oz. ribeye at $29 as you never know what you're going to get in a new restaurant, but I'm glad I did. It had to be closer to 16 oz. and cooked perfectly (medium). In addition, the blue cheese topping was excellent. Very nice atmosphere and great service. Also, it's right across the street from the Mead Hotel.Thanks for taking the time out of your schedule to leave us this review, Scott! We will definitely be passing your compliments on to our staff. Congratulations to the owners of The Chat-R-Box, for moving into the new facility, just a short distance north of the original location. The parking lot has appeared busy for breakfasts and lunches, when passing through the area. We had a late breakfast here a few days ago, and were pleased with the on-going excellent food quality and friendly service. It's a bit noisier than the previous location, if there's a crowd. The catering part of this business is thriving, so the community salutes this business, with its success story. Keep up the excellent work!

I was searching for a place in the area that served king crab legs. They seem to be hard to find on any menu around here! I was so excited when I saw you can order a combination of steak and 16 oz of sweet split king crab! For $3 extra, my six ounce tenderloin was upgraded to an awesome ribeye. My husband had the 20 oz porterhouse, which just seemed huge on his platter. Needless to say, we both brought steak home for another evening! Can't wait to try the shrimp next time. Oh, the salad bar is small but the pasta krab salad, broccoli salad, and macaroni salad were really good.

Was here for dinner with friends. The food was Ok but just-- it had some missteps. The featured split pea soup was very salty. Potato skins appetizer was huge, and the middle not scooped out like most, which offered just a huge mouthful of potato, and lacked any kind of sauce. The meatloaf entrée was a bit hard, salty, and just didn't have anything noteworthy about it. My wife's hawaiian chicken sandwitch was supposed to be a teriaki chicken with bacon and pinapple but the chicken was encased in cheese and was a bit greesy feeling as a result. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad night and the prices were reasonable, but nothing really stood out and the service was a bit scattered.

Small place, with very friendly staff. We were from out of town playing golf and stopped by afterwards for dinner before driving back to Lake Arrowhead. Amy our waitress was very friendly, not rushing us and giving us prompt service once we placed our orders. Yea we were looked at when we walked in, as many locals go there and the staff knew them all by name as they served them, Worth the visit and eats were good

Amy and the chefs always present interesting flavors, joining of foods and tastes. We try to get there weekly. Great value and superb fare. I canât score ratings for service, food, value below, but I consider all excellent. My go to place. Yum, Yum.

While visiting my parents, they took us here for dinner where we also met my sister and her husband. My folks and sister go here frequently. The bar area is roomy and casual but inviting and is separate from the dining area. They have lakeside views too from either the bar or dining area. Bar area has high top tables too. Dining area is spacious. Great broasted chicken, which I had. My husband had the jumbo shrimp dinner and that was great too. All the food was great. The only complaint was that once we ordered we waited quite a long time for our food. It wasnât overly busy so not sure why the wait was so long. I realize the chicken probably takes longer and I understand that. If youâre in a hurry, probably donât want to order the chicken! Otherwise, it was a very pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend this place!!

My husband go there occasionally for a late breakfast or for lunch. The waitstaff is very attentive whether or not you are their customers. The soups, salads, and pies are excellent and perfect portions are served. The prices are very reasonable. I always feel at home when eating there and most of the time, I know someone else eating at another table.Mary Wright

Who knew in the Middle of Wisconsin I would have the EXTREME PLEASURE of enjoying a MIRACULOUS BURGER......I will, in all future trips, find a way to get to this GEM......Only down side to this entire dining experience was the flies in the restaurant.....But even they could not hinder the JOY of the first bite.....The Unsweet Tea also was AMAZING......and the HOME MADE CHIPS were EPIC.....EllenHolmes67, we are so honored and pleased to receive this outstanding rating and review.
