Took our grandson to American Flatbread for his birthday. The restaurant has been in Burlington for several years but I had never been there. The oven is in a convenient part of the restaurant so you can watch the action. That was nice and made the ambiance quite nece. We had four people so we ordered two pizzas and they were excellent. We had one meat lovers and one plain cheese. The service was very good with the servers spelling each other and making sure that customers were not left waiting for their food.I will be back.

What a find! Kind of an out-of-the-way location, but well worth the search. These folks have it down as far as vegan food is concerned. So many options, and they even make their own seitan. The vegan among us was thrilled, the vegetarian too, and the folks new to vegan food thoroughly enjoyed their dinners and plan to return.

We really enjoyed the 15-hour brisket but thought the portion was a bit small for the price. The sides are plentiful and you should definitely try the twice-fried fries, baked pit beans, and Mac and cheese. The mountain maple sauce blew us away! The Alabama white sauce was great on the fries. Their homemade ketchup was a bit too garlicky- heads up, if thatâs not your thing. Got the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. Great scald on nice portion of chicken but didnât taste any hot sauce. Bummer! They top it with ranch sauce but they did it too soon after frying that it melted all over, making the bun greasy and unnecessarily wet. That was disappointing since it is a popular item. Hoping it was an off-day. Service was uneven â attentive then disappeared. Never explained sauces on table. Large menu. Pretty restaurant with lots of seating. Would try again. Four of us had dinner there our first night in Burlington. Menu is somewhat limited but everything is great. Décor is mostly wood and lighting is kept low. Expect to pay around $50 per person not including drinks, tax or tips. Reservations are a must on weekends and in summer season.

Sneakers features the absolute best breakfast sandwich I have ever tasted (egg, turkey sausage, arugula and red pepper mayo on a brioche bun) and the tastiest french toast (made with a kahlua batter). Both are very well priced, the sandwich coming with excellent breakfast potatoes and the french toast with 2 eggs. How to choose? Don't! My suggestion is to have the sandwich with a single slice of the french toast on the side. And the coffee is fantastic too

Lively hipster vibe, friendly welcome and a table on the water. The food was much better than I imagined, a pleasant surprise since they feed so many people - so kudos to a busy kitchen on delivering excellent casual dining fare. Not outrageously expensive but definitely not in the cheap-eats category. Thanks so much for the great review! Small, uniquely decorated restaurant. Lots of old lunch boxes and other interesting memorabilia. Keeps you entertained while waiting for you food. Service was very good as was the Vermont Company coffee. I ordered the Caesar salad and a cup of the âworld famous chowderâ. The Caesar salad is a $9 huge bowlful of lettuce with some croutons and a smattering of dressing. Totally unimpressive. The chowder was good but Iâve had better. It had shrimp, clams, bacon, celery, carrots, onion and was supposed to have smoked sausage but I didnât have any in mine. My spouse ordered the Eggs benedict with sourdough bread, bacon, spinach, poached eggs, and a small side salad. He said it was ok but nothing special. So a lot of nothing special for $40. I really wanted to like this place but we wonât be back.

Overall the food we had for breakfast was average. Everything was good quality, but just ordinary in taste. I guess with all the rave reviews, we were expecting more. However, the staff was fantastic. Everyone from the waitress, to the hostess, to the bus girl :-)

Older commercial building, warm ambience, engaging servers, and out of the box presentations demand your attention. The menu is limited, but that can be a good thing. Although we ordered half a fried chicken for 2 ($38), one of the more reasonably priced main courses, we were still charged for bread. A plus, the excellent bread was served with flowers in the flowing butter (yep, it worked). Cocktails were served in your grandmothers cocktail glasses, also interesting. Thank God we ordered the bread, because our chicken took FOREVER to appear on our table (we were warned after we ordered by our waitress but had not ideas what we were getting into to). In the interim we moved on from the bread and cocktail to consume half a bottle of wine before the arrival of the chicken, but what a chicken! Deeply bread and seasoned, the fried chicken exceeded expectatons. I am guessing it is flash fried then finished in an oven at high temperature (450F), but of course they wouldn't say. Warning, a la mode franchise, everything presented with a great deal salt, but again it worked (might want to adjust your high blood pressure medicine before the visit). Finally, let's talk about the wine list, being from California's wine country, and familiar with French, Italian, and Spanish offerings, I thought I knew my way around any wine list. Heavily skewed toward esoteric French wines I did not recognize anything (very thin on New World selections, and those were unrecognizable), I picked the only Spanish red wine offered (Spanish wines rock with chicken, right?). Offered at $45, it was thin, simple, and lacking any suggestion of complexity. So, I should add the staff IS interesting in an intriguing way. There IS something going on here, but the edges are rough indeed.

Breakfast at this restaurant topped off a great week long vacation in Quebec. I had the quinoa bowl - fresh and delicious.
