Fire is a great local spot. It is very popular. Tasty small plates to share and delicious entrees to enjoy. Service is friendly and focused. The only issue is the lack of reservations. The wait can be very long. In my view this is completely unnecessary. I would certainly visit much more often if I could make reservations and avoid the long wait.Hello GlennR, thank you for the review. We appreciate your words and you taking the time to write. In order to honor reservations, Tables must be held open so that when you walk in you have a table immediately available. There are many complications with reservations that are unknown to the general public and typically loss of business due to holding tables open. Our call ahead priority seat list basically acts like a reservation and the goal is to seat you immediately, however sometimes we cannot predict when a table will get up before you and many people sit longer than expected so you may end up waiting a little bit. On a typical busy night our wait can be up to an hour and a half to two hours for walk in business, and the call ahead list will get sat within 15 to 30 minutes. Which in reality is a typical wait time for reservations in most busy restaurants. So call ahead days or weeks in advance and get on the priority seating list. It truly works. Thank you again. Cheers...

We were visiting daughter at CDH and decided to try Caliendoâs because it was nearby and local people recommended. We were promptly greeted and seated by hostess. Server, Cody, arrived to get our drink order quickly. We ordered food as soon as drinks arrived. After not seeing server for 20 minutes, I got up to inquire about how much longer it would be (because we wanted to get back to the hospital). He was bringing another drink for my wife and said food would be another few minutes as he had just checked. Food finally came about 7-8 minutes later.Food was hot and looked good. My sausage hoagie was cooked well and had plenty of cheese but could have used a little red sauce/gravy. Flavor was good. My wife had chicken Parmesan and said it was just average. Biggest disappointment was that the breading has no flavor or lacked seasoning. Overall, I will probably give this establishment another try to see if the food can be delivered faster and if other dishes have more flavor.

Recently ate at this facility for lunch. Wow for the food portion sizes for each of us at the table. And all the various items we ate for lunch was delicious. Prices were very reasonable, considering the size of the food portions. The menu contained a wide variety of choices. If you are very hungry, this is the place to go, as you will not leave with a tummy that is not full.

Had our second dinner here this Friday and we both had the Holy Grail Cheese. This a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato that you dip in the Grail of a thick tomato sauce. It was delicious. Something different and tasty. Get here early on the weekend- before 6 PM!

Archetype Greek "family style" joint - one may easily gauge the owner's involvement by whether he's tucked into a rear corner booth reading a paper, or standing vigilantly by the cash register, cold fish eyes surveying his domain. This place is the latter.Surrounded by seniors working the edges of huge salads (taking home most for dinner) and a group of lawyers stoking chubby sandwiches from the widely varied menu, I paused to strategize a choice. Meanwhile, my scurrying waitress managed to fill my coffee twice without seeming pushy or impatient. Choosing the blackened salmon Caesar salad, I opted for chicken noodle soup (included). Well, Hello - the soup had actual chicken, veggies and broth (not too many noodles) and the fresh baked bread was a soft, sweet wheat with sesames on top. Ground anchovies were noted in the dressing's flavor profile; aside from a prolific anount of croutons, the fish was blackened as ordered. Very nice! Was able to cull a bit of salad and leftover bread for a little nosh later. Summation: the Verdict provides above average Greek-style fare goaded, in part by its proximity to multiple law offices, who'll "take no guff". Way better than the tired also-ran a few miles up Roosevelt Rd. Lock-em down, I say!

Enjoyed Cinamon French Toast this morning. Prices are reasonable with quality service. Met a friend for breakfast who enjoyed his vege-omelet with some specific options to deal with his diet requirements. They aim to please here. I have also enjoyed lunch here. There's a decent parking lot attached south of the Metra Tracks!

Iâm in Chicago for a couple of days on work, and have mostly getting fast food delivered to my room given the current weather So this was a breath of fresh air, to get out, and hangout with some new friends. Itâs a cozy place, loved the ambience, not too noisy even thought it seemed like a full house (definitely get a reservation). The service by both our servers were good, they do menus for each day I think, and our menu for the day looked good, had a good mix of salads, soups and mains. I had the Salmon dish, it was really good. Despite the weather, I was also craving for some gelato, so had the Pistachio Gelato which was great as well. All in all a great experience for my first ever Chicago trip, and first outside the hotel dining during this trip :) Iâm very pleased. Our hosts paid for the food, but I think the food is not cheap :)

Wife and celebrated our anniversary at Ivy on a Saturday night. We ordered the baked brie for an appetizer. The brie was good but the jam on the toasted bread was overpowering. The jam should be on the side. My scallops over rice with balsamic glaze were very good but the rice was very mushy. The sauce was perfect. My wife had the salmon which was touch overdone and dry. For dessert, I order a scoop of the vanilla gelato which was perfect and a scoop of the chocolate gelato which was gritty. My wife confirmed the grittiness, not sure if they didn't dissolve all the cocoa powder. The service was awesome and the setting was great. They have a nice wine list by the bottle and the glass. We both left there with a "meh" feeling that the food was good but nothing great.
