My husband and I stopped into the Blackwater Grille for a light dinner. We had been here years before when it was Loafers Restaurant. The new owners maintained the cozy feel in the bar, Homey and welcoming, lighting could have been brighter, however as it was a bit difficult to read the menu. Waitress was very attentive and food was delivered in less than ten minutes.I had the Harvest salad, It was huge and full of crisp lettuce, walnuts, dried cranberries, feta cheese, sliced pears and served with their homemade boursin dressing. My husband had a burger and fries. Both were very good.Live entertainment began at 7:00, we stayed for awhile to listen and were glad we did.

I brought my daughter here for breakfast. First thing I noticed was how immaculately clean and welcoming this restaurant is. I enjoyed a meat lovers omelet with perfectly grilled English muffins. My daughter had the breakfast quesadilla which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our waitress was very cheerful and accommodating. Will definitely return to try other breakfast items and lunch.

My husband and I stopped at Red's between errands on a busy winter weekday and were early enough to get a window seat. The place was full of hardworking plow guys, oil delivery men - lots of cold, hungry people with a short lunch break. So our waitress was a bit preoccupied with them. This meant that our order was delivered to the table cool/cold, and we had no time for a do-over. Obviously, if the food had been hot, it would have tasted better. But even cooled off, the meatball mozzarella crocks were good. We wouldn't go back to eat in, but might do takeout from here.

Stopped here with family for brunch. Some of us were looking for an egg style breakfast. Unfortunately, their menu is unique - not bad, just not what we were looking for. What we ordered was tasty.Thank you Roger for the review and the feedback. We appreciate it.

We stopped in for a somewhat early dinner because this place was open before 5 and we'd been meaning to try it. I ordered the salmon encrusted with brown sugar sweet potato at the encouragement of the server who said it was delicious, a favorite of everyone who tried it. The "crust" was soggy and seemed to be plain sweet potato "noodles" without any seasoning or brown sugar...the topping was tasteless and without character. The salmon underneath the sweet potato "crust" was overcooked and dry. The green beans were warm but other than that, were completely raw and hard without so much as a dash of salt to season them---it almost seemed as though the fish was kept waiting (cooling off) while they tried to quickly do something to cook the beans as an afterthought. The only saving grace of the meal was a decent, but probably store-bought, cole slaw. Likewise, my husband had the baked haddock that seemed to be a smallish piece of fish masked by way too many soggy breadcrumbs that he said was also dry and overcooked. He also had the almost raw beans and a rice pilaf which he said was "decent" and appeared to be generously served. The service was slow, taking more than 30 minutes to receive our minimally warm but overcooked food after ordering, even though the restaurant was uncrowded at the beginning of our visit. All in all, this was our first and last visit to this establishment...if you don't have any expectations of something better, you might not be disappointed. However, after reading some good reviews from others, we expected more flavor and substance in our food than we got.

We were meeting friends for dinner, and they suggested trying this place. We were all very pleased with the choice! Two of us got the walnut salmon dinner, one got the baked scallops and one got the lamb chops (appetizer) and grilled romaine salad. Everything was cooked to perfection. We saved room for dessert. Two of us got the limoncello cake and two got the tiramisu. They were very fresh and tasty! We all said we would return for sure! Also, we were seated upstairs and were left to chat for as long as we wanted. They didn't make us feel rushed to get out so they could fill the table. The restaurant was formerly a home and is said to be haunted. We didn't experience anything while we were there.

We go here at least twice a month and sometimes more often. We have visited all 3 locations (Derry, Windham and Salem). since live in Windham we frequent that location on most occasions. The food is made when you order it. Portions are large and we usually have food to bring home. Please note the Windham location closes at 2 pm each day. The Salem location stays open for dinner.

After visiting a friend in Windham, he suggested we go here for some drinks and something to eat. We were really impressed, there was a singer on which heightened the atmosphere, and the food was excellent and portion sizes were huge! Alison the barmaid/waitress was very pleasant and gave excellent customer service. Highly recommended place to visit.

Off the beaten path, but worth the drive over. Nostalgic and comfortable with a unique gift shop. A good place to eat, shop and be...
I've been here for both breakfast and lunch several times and always look forward to going back. It is out of the way but there is a reason that people find their way here. It's a little country gift shop with a great restaurant. I wanted to say it is nothing special, just regular food, but that wouldn't be right. There is something about breakfast or a sandwich that makes this place stand out. It's special. Prices are low and quality is high and my wife loves to browse the attached gift shop with many locally made items. There is a walking / bicycle rail trail nearby so you can make a day of it. Take a ride and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
