We've had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Lucky Platter, but mostly breakfast. It's a local neighborhood restaurant with a casual atmosphere. Welcoming for everyone. We've seen young families, couples, local politicians having business meetings, etc. Wouldn't necessarily go out of my way just to eat here, but it's less than a block from the Main Street stations for the CTA Purple Line and Union Pacific North Line. Great place to stop for a bite if shopping at the many independently owned stores in the Main Street/Chicago Ave. area -- Vogue Fabrics, Cultivate Urban Garden, Good's Framing, Dave's Rock Shop, Guitar Works, Plain and Simple, Belgian Chocolatier, 10,000 Villages, etc.

Itâs nice this restaurant employees high school students, but then go expecting a less professional and underwhelming experience. The waitress said the soup of the day was chicken soup, which I ordered along with some tacos of the day. Yes the soup had chicken in it but it was not chicken soup as we most know it. It was spicy and included corn, black beans, etc. I could see that miscommunication being a problem for some, including me as it was not was I was expecting or in the mood for. I mentioned about the soup but they didnât seem too concerned. The tacos were cold. Please do your young staff the courtesy of training them so neither they nor the customers are put in a difficult situation. The best dining experience is when greeted by confident and knowledgeable servers. These quiet servers who donât know the menu, along with a lack of correct food temperature, keep me thinking this place can never be any more than it is until they get some basics worked out.

Really enjoyed the part of the evening spent there. Very flavorful and healthy-feeling food. Service was very nice also. Only two drawbacks. First was that portions were small and we left hungry. The second was the introductory speech at the table was a little heavy on all the trend words ("true farm-to-table... local/organic/sustainable...") and the phrase "small plates format, meant to be shared" we didn't realize might be a signal to not expect much food with the main courses. For the fish, Faroe Island Salmon, how it was local-to-table left us a bit puzzled. Circling back to the positive, though, the food was very good, the room was extremely pleasant and all of the service interactions were great. The intro speech may have mis-set expectations. I would tell friends visiting Evanston to give it a look.

This is a neighborhood gem. Just the way the tables are set up creates a friendly place. There is a very good beer selection. It's more than a burger place. For example, I had a roasted veggie quesadilla with guacamole. The walls have artwork, tee flags from golf tournaments and even a mounted bicycle.

I enjoy going to Ridgeview Grill for two reasons. First their food is dependably good. I especially like their breakfast items. Secondly is the ambiance. While the food is rushed out to you, you are never rushed to eat and get out. The tables are spaced so conversations arenât strained. I always leave an appropriate tip for overstaying and appreciate being able to enjoy my table mates without feeling pushed.

The Stained Glass is a pioneer of the Evanston fine dining scene since opening its doors in 1999. Enjoy our New American cuisine.
Loved the foie gras appetizer and cheese course. Both were outstanding and large portions. Wine pours (glass and flights) were generous. We really enjoyed the diver scallops and lamb chops entrees. Only downsides were a relatively small selection of bottles, close tables, and average bread. We enjoyed the ambiance of the dining room and will return.

This restaurant is near the Northwestern campus and serves fresh and delicious food. The menu is interesting- lots of comfort foods with a modern twist. Soups, salads, pizza, sandwiches. You can sit inside or out, weather permitting. The servers were friendly and the service was very good. I had the spinach and artichoke pizza which also had fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and goat cheese too. It was delicious and I took half of it home. The coconut ice cream was the perfect ending to a good meal.

Have visited Walker Bros. for breakfast every time I have visited the Chicago area for more than 20 years. This time I was going to miss this delicious treat, so thinking out of the box I went there for dinner.Who doesn't love breakfast for dinner? The pecan pancake was just as decadently delicious, and with a side of thick bacon made for a great evening treat.
