At Friendlyâs, weâve been serving up ice cream and delicious fun since 1935. But actions taste better than words. So, get in today to try us for yourself.
I went here for dinner with my wife and two kids. I had a Ruben sandwich and it was excellent (as good or better than any I had elsewhere). The kids didn't like the kid's pizza at all, but liked the chicken fingers and fries. My wife had plate that had three samples of things on the menu. So between all that was ordered, we all went home full and that isn't always so easy with kids. Overall, it was a great experience because we all left feeling good about our meals and had a nice time.
Not the best meatball grinder I've had. I was craving a good New England meatball grinder with homemade meatballs, crusty outside-soft inside bread, marinara and fresh shredded mozzarella cheese. This wasn't anything close to that and was such a let down. The bread was the highlight, but not toasted and crunchy on the outside. The meatball (?) was sliced and had more of a shaved look to it. I guess this place is more famous for roast beef sandwiches and not necessarily the rest of the grinders. The cheese was sliced and provolone I think. Sauce was a little tangy. The other two grinders looked equally as depressing as mine. The chicken Parmesan was made with frozen, breaded chicken. The server was beyond nice and so friendly. She was always smiling and was very good at juggling the counter, the tables, getting drinks and paying out. It's a dive. Nothing much to look at.

Two couples had dinner here mid-week. When we entered the whole open restaurant was open and bright and we were greeted by a friendly hostess. When seated our server quickly took our drink order. We specifically went here because the Oriental Chicken salad was a favorite of one of our group and so she ordered it. A burger and fish and chips were also ordered. All were very good portions and we finished without taking anything home. The fourth order was off the menu - a BLT on toast. It came with about 10 fries. The sandwich was tasty but pricey when we saw it on the tab - over $13.00. Live and learn. Tip: Stick to the menu, don't order what you may be hankering for if it's not on the menu. All in all, we had a good experience and would return.
A locally owned tea room-bakery-barista bar built in a pre-Civil War building just off the Main Street area of Willimantic near Eastern Connecticut State University and Windham Town Hall. Offers pastries, cakes, pies, quiche, frittata, a full barista menu
Fantastic experience. High tea was outstanding. Nice selection of teas, and the items included in the Windsor tea such as sandwiches, scones, and desserts were all delicious. The service was excellent. Wonderful atmosphere, a great place to catch up with good friends. Definitely going back soon.

I went to Thread City this morning ( March 7, 2018) around 10:50 am. I first attempted to place a to- go- order over the phone however; the line continually disconnected. I then entered the diner and waited to be greeted at the register. I was perplexed why I waited so long at the register, as there was no one in front of me! Finally, a rude waitress came over; I am thinking to take my order. The waitress ( very abruptly) stated she were not accepting anyone. I informed her I was simply placing an order to go! She rudely stated we are overwhelmed with orders and staff had called out sick. The restaurant appeared to be busy however; there were empty tables and booths. I watched two cooks directly in front of me preparing meals. They did not appear to be overwhelmed! I left very disappointed and decided to try Blondies Diner. What an amazing breakfast I had. Sadly Thread City lost a regular customer. I will never return back to Thread City! EVER ! Timothy Coleman

Definite delicious meal every time I have been to Blondie's. Plus friendly service. I love breakfast and this place has lots of options including huge tasty pancakes and yummy omelets. I consistently leave happy. Highly recommend Blondie's, whether you want traditional breakfast classics or like to try something new. Super busy on weekends for good reason. Expect to wait for a table during peak times. However, it was had been my experience to get seated within 15 minutes even when there's a crowd.

First time visiting this Irish pub will keep me coming back. I used to go to the other place in Willi, but I really don't like waiting so when I heard of this place we headed over there. Good service, food served quickly, hot and was fantastic. Would recommend with no hesitation and will go again next time I'm in town.

The staff here couldnât be friendlier or more kind. When we arrived on a Sunday, the place was packed. However we got seated in just a few minutes. They have all sort of creative specials, breads and regular menu items. We ordered right after receiving our coffee and within a few minutes we received a call that indicated that we needed to leave immediately. The staff got our check and asked if they could put our food aside for us for later, which we readily and gratefully accepted. We returned about an hour later and the staff fell over themselves to serve up our food and remade part of it and reheated others. The food was incredible! They laughed and empathized with our situation. We wanted to hug each and everyone of them.Weâve been back once and will likely return more before our stay here is over. We love a great breakfast and lots of fantastic places in the Groton, New London and Mystic area are not what they used to be (Kitchen Little) or are no longer there (B & B Dairy). This is a gem that has been there for about 10 years. I hope the community keeps them going for 100 more!

The food is good, very friendly staff, great atmosphere. I ordered the chicken scampi w/risotto and Bulgarian chocolate cake. The risotto had great flavor, but definitely needed to be more creamy. Was more of rice consistency than risotto. The chocolate cake was a must have. Overall great experience and would recommend.

Visited on a busy Friday evening with our 15 year old son. Delicious, interesting apps and small plates. Loved the concept of being encouraged to linger, share, experience the food. The garlic bread is absolutely the best ever, donât miss the Mac N Cheese. Knowledge attentive, friendly service, never felt rushed. Excellent value for high quality food. Our teenager is already asking when we can return. Go and do not miss the ice cream flight!
