Aberdeen Barn always makes the annual girls trip as a dinner stop. Food is always delicious and service is exceptional. This visit was no different. Harris was our waiter and made several great recommendations for dinner & was incredibly attentive. A couple of Barn Runner drinks, Oysters as an appetizer, steak & potato for dinner and cheesecake dessert. All a definite winner. Next time you're in Williamsburg stop by and ask for Harris.

The restaurant/distillery is wheelchair accessible including their restrooms. The restaurant has two areas with a ramp leading up to the distillery/bar area where the restrooms are located. Most of the tables in the bar area were the bar height style. The restaurant is accessible with movable tables and chairs but the aisles are narrow so you may have to ask people to move so you can pass especially if it is crowded. The two items we chose along with a four beer sampler were superb. For the appetizer, we enjoyed the biscuit tray that was accompanied by butter, two types of jam and honeycomb. Next, we shared the shrimp and oh so smooth grits. The service was great even with the number of people jammed into the place. There were a lot of hard surfaces in the restaurant so it was very loud inside.

This place is obviously quite popular, as a bustling dinner crowd appeared to have filled every table in this comfortable dining spot on the summer Saturday night we visited. Thereâs a lot to recommend the place: courteous and reasonably prompt service, friendly greeting at arrival, a menu with some inventive interpretations, a wide array of daily specials, plus an inviting décor evoking a French country bistro (although - for the theme - a few unusual design choices in our view). The restaurant recommends smart casual attire â and thereâs obviously wide variation of that in Williamsburg, a touristy town, to include shorts and Tâs on the night we went. Unfortunately, we found the food quality uneven, and at the prices charged will be cautious when considering a return visit. The biggest disappointment for us was the fried oyster salad. The oysters were soggy in their coating â perhaps they hadnât been flash fried quite long enough or in hot enough oil for the coating batter to fully congeal? The salmon we had was a good sized portion, but cooked dry though ordered medium â weâll take that on ourselves though as we should have specified medium rare, perhaps, but it would be helpful if the server confirmed how their kitchen normally interprets relative doneness as some restaurants do to assure you will receive the fish as you prefer it cooked. The appetizer and entrée portions were generous, making selection of a dessert from their tempting assortment something we had to forego this trip. There is an appealing specialty cocktail menu that many in the place seemed to be selecting. As we are in Williamsburg frequently, we will likely give Cochon another try, having learned from our first experience. It warrants that second chance given its obvious popularity. We might have just had an off night â given the crowd the kitchen must have been very busy.

we stopped in for lunch. The food was excellent, great portion sizes for the price. We had the daily special (6" cheese steak w/fries and drink) and the cheese steak salad. Service was fast and friendly. This was our first trip but we'll be backThank you Rick

Our family came from DC to Williamsburg for a day at Busch Gardens. We leave the park when the Hallowscream starts, as we have small children. I found Food for Though on Tripadvisor. I called the restaurant at 5:30, as we were taking the cable cars across the park. I put our name in for a 6:30 table. **They DO NOT take reservations, but this can substantially shorten the wait. We arrived at 6:30 and had about a 20 minute wait. Someone came outside with stuffed mushrooms to offer. NOT BAD!! We were seated at a table for 7 and our server's name was Emily. She was friendly and helpful. 2 of us had the "nutty chicken" and 2 had the shrimp po boys. The kids' pasta was good, but the grilled shrimp lacked seasoning. That was truly our only complaint. They were simply bland and pretty tasteless. We shared the croissant bread pudding and a creme brulee. Both were delicious. I don't even like bread pudding, but this was fantastic. We enjoyed our dinner at Food for Thought. It allowed the adults to have a nice meal, while the kids could be kids.....the tables are lined with white paper and they each got crayons. PERFECT COMBO!!Thanks for sharing this! I'll be sure to pass along your kind words to Emily, as well. Hoping you'll make it back to see us again next time you're in town! Best,Howard, Owner

What could be better than donuts made fresh right in front of you? Nothing! At Duck Donuts you select exactly what you want on your donut, then watch it being made. The result is a fresh, hot and delicious donut. Choose maple and bacon, blueberry glaze or almost anything else you can imagine. They have a list of pre-designed favorites, or you can design your own. Of course they have great coffee. You can even opt for a alternative like a bacon/egg biscuit. This is an experience not to be missed!

This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2003. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room has an open kitchen, which uses fresh, local ingredients for its creative American fare. The dining bar and seasona
We joined another couple for a wonderful dining experience at The Fat Canary tonight. This is a light, casual, comfortable place with excellent staff. We were quickly seated and waited on. After ordering drinks, we learned of the specials for the evening. We ordered the oyster appetizer which was absolutely terrific....perhaps the best choice of the evening. My wife and I enjoyed the grouper special which was absolutely great. One of our friends had the short ribs which said were excellent. Another had the scallops which he said were very good, not the best he's ever had. The deserts were absolutely terrific. Everyone enjoyed the Fat Canary and think we made a great choice in going there for dinner.

I really didn't know what to expect, but what a fun evening! 5 courses, 3 wines, plus appetizers and a bubbly Chardonnay were served. The chef gave cooking tips while preparing some of the food. The conversation was sprinkled with humor. Even though my husband isn't a cook, he thoroughly enjoyed the evening also.
