This is a family owned and run establishment that serves delicious fish, shrimp and other goodies. The shrimp is lightly batterred and very tasty. The perch is some of the best around. Our favorite, though, is the walleye. YUM. They cater to families and especially children. THe owner walks around among the tables, telling jokes, making sure everything is to your liking.

This was a meal where we had already chosen on our bus tour what entree we would like. The service was prompt and we enjoyed our selections. My husband had pork tenderloin and I had shrimp. All was very tasty. The dessert was sherbert.

Seemingly in the middle of nowhere but still in the city limits of Chicago, Calumet Fisheries is an iconic place. It didn't need the Blues Brothers or Anthony Bourdain to make it famous (although it was a great tribute to them to have their restaurant featured) because it has been running for years. Unique menu and one of the last true smokehouses in Illinois. High quality and great service. Remember that the smoked fish i the speciality. They have fried fish too which is also good but it's really about the smoked fish. Look at the small smokehouse before going in and you know you are in a special place. Cash only. No inside seating but it's fun to sit in the line of cars outside and just enjoy the meal. Excellent

Within only two blocks there are several restaurants, so this Subway has to definitely fight to stay in play. The staff was friendly, the prices were very reasonable, there is parking to the sides and in front. This is an old-school Subway, but it is still going strong.

Quaint little shop for Lunch or a Lite Supper not to mention the Pies.You have to place your order at the counter but they will bring it to your table. Really good Soup choices and kind of a build your own sandwich affair, There are salad choices as well. I have had several Pies from here and they are all worth the money. However, the Butterscotch Cream Pie is both unusual and DELICIOUS!

Disappointed again.The restaurant is terribly bright and the conversation very loud! Cocktail made incorrectly. Remade and served in a dirty glass, you have to be kidding me. Calamari bad and served lukewarm. Clam Chowder terrible. Caesar salad, almost average. Filet barely average. Lobster was okay, but only six bites per tail. A real waste of money. Will NOT BE BACK!

They have the best fish and chips I've had in years. I tried my husbands burger and beer and they were also very tasty. You can get flights here too! They have multiple tvs to catch sports on also.

Returning to the hometown yielded a surprise that most growing up in this region would never have believed possible. In our foursome we began with an appetizer of green beans covered in a bacon jam sauce. It only got better from there. A Whitefish Roma with a special recipe secured by the owner when in Rome is the absolute favorite of one dinner party member. Blackened cod was superb. Only disappointment from an Arizona desert dweller was "Sorry, we are all out of walleye." AUUUGH. I will forgive Keith once. Absolute must dine if in this area. Worth a drive, too!

Sun July 28, 2019 Mile Marker 0 I-90 just after (or before) the Chicago Skyway, Village Square Buffet, Horseshoe Hammond, IN.Kristen on cash, no host/hostess it's seat yourselfers, Georgina is our friendly an excellent server. Excellent quality and selection only $38.50 for two (gratuity not included) John (excellent memory, remembering my name) had two cuts of prime standing rib roast, beef brisket and Turkey for carving, I had the prime rib well, cranberry sauce, green olives, red whole baby beets and cheddar cheese cubes for color and taste. Tortellini with sauteed tomato in herbed chicken was amazing and worth the drive from anywhere,the Strawberry Shortcake was an amazing dessert. Thanks to all who make this a great #buffasino
