Typical bar food for the most part. It was our last meal while in Boston and I was in need of simple meal from all the over-indulgence of the day's prior. Ordered a tuna salad sandwich reluctantly as most the menu was greasy food options. I forgot that Boston gets some of the freshest sea food. The tuna was great. Really hit the spot. It was a busy night so I imagine the rest of the menu may have surprised me as well. Give it a try, especially if you're staying at the Crowne Plaza in Newton and need a quiet meal without going far.

I went with a group of about 10. Food was very good. I had the Wild Boar pasta. It was a Tuesday night and I was surprised at how busy it was. Even with a large group they did a nice job serving us, albeit the food did take a while to come. Good food. I'd recommend but don't go if you are in a hurry.

This is more of a series of recollections than a recommendation. I grew up with a dad who owned restaurants in NYC. He owned a few but his oldest he began in 1932. When he died he left it to the bartender/manager and then it passed on to my sister who held it till 9/11 killed a lot of businesses in New York. Anyway, one of his specialties was Prime Rib. It was fresh. It was cooked perfectly and the servings were generous. After all these years the only restaurant where I will order Prime Rib is The Talk!. It is the same as whenI was a kid. And we3 weâre getting family size servings. Plus they understand the end cut/double serving rule. The vegetables are fresh, the baked potatoes perfectly cooked and the cocktails well mixed. I have never been disappointed with anything off the menu. I love exciting new restaurants that push the food envelope Bulli style. But give me perfectly cooked prime rib au jus anytime!Good morning and thank you so very much for taking the time post your review, you just made my day! Thanks Kaz

On the longtime site of formerly famous 'Pats Diner' then 'Talk of the Town' now 'The Diner - At 11North Beacon' has assumed, and firmly brought forward the legacy, and carried on here (7+yrs) in the very finest tradition of the Cosy All American Diner...and squarely and firmly hits every mark : 7 day close at 2, all day breakfast and lunch, onion grilled skin on homefries (THE baseline benchmark), very good coffee, not a qreasy spoon in sight, quality generous portions and meats at a reasonable price, simple breakfast/lunch doubleside laminate menu with all the usual basic items, with diverse lunch and chalkboard specials, impressive home made bakery goods. The attentive, classy sassy waitstaff hustle, bustle and "honey' all, closely watched over by brassy waitress/owner/baker Lisa, setting the standard, and warmly greet and engage all and everyone coming and going..orders come out quickly and delivered promptly, even with a SundayAM packed house..kudos to the kitchen staff...large counter seating for the solo..spic and span clean, bathrooms too!Bonus! :#Wonderful (small) outside back deck when availiable..#pumpkin pancakes!#fresh oj #real maple syrup # killer cinnabuns #beer and wine (?in a diner?..why not)..easy access off mass pike right in Watertown Square. The adjacent Charles River Esplanade for an afterwards riverside sit, walk, kayack or Lime Bike ride.. The only thing I might dare try to suggest is Heinz ketchup and Macllinery Louisiana red and green hotsauce..but, as a HumbleDinerFan, quite happily take it all just as is...

This was our first trip for brunch here. Itâs always been a favorite of ours for dinner. Wonderful place for an upscale brunch, nice atmosphere, not rushed and not noisy. Service was impeccable, thanks to Kyle (hope I remembered that correctly). I had the Mushroom and asparagus omelet, without the asparagus. Light and fluffy eggs folded over mushrooms, onions, cheese. Perfect. It came with crispy potato wedges and a nice salad on the plate (Lettuce, beets, radish etc). I also ordered a side of bacon, which was generous and perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the whole wheat crepe with banana, hazelnuts and cream. It was listed in the small plate section, but unlike some places where a small plate means you need to order 2-4 plates, it was all that was needed. To finish the meal off we had the chocolate mousse, topped with caramel and pistachios. Everything here is well thought out, plated and presented. True fine dining, even for brunch.

Sycamore is a seasonally inspired, chef-owned neighborhood bistro in Newton Centre. Emphasizing locally sourced produce, fish and meat, our menu draws on classic European country food; rustic and wholesome. Our beverage program is designed to complement t
Add this restaurant to your portfolio of dining choices. Its menu, while limited, has selections that are quite different from most places. The pastas are excellent, such as the black pepper pappardelle, with strong and interesting flavors unlike conventional versions. The mushroom soup is outstanding, but again not just another soup but adding maple sweetness. The quails are debunked (except for the thighs), which is a nice touch. The shakshuka, made from local peppers, was terrific and something we've not had before -- ad the locally-prepared lamb ("merguez") to it and it is marvelous. Trillium IPA on tap is a great choice, they know how to make a Manhattan, and the wines by the glass -- a gain vey limited in range -- has a few fine choices. Parking is easy on-street or in the nearby lot. The place was humming on a Saturday night, but the service still was friendly, professional, and helpful.

Usually my Monday spot for 1$ oysters and shrimps (thatâs the only time they serve them so theyâre not old or anything!) - I highly recommend their quesadilla and soups as well! While the food is good, itâs the service that really keeps me coming back here. All waiters and waitresses are very friendly and helpful! I am glad that you have always enjoyed dining with us and even happier that you have had great service. See you next Monday!

Really liked this place in the converted arsenal area folks said. With nice weather we ate outside with a covered arbor so got the breeze but not the sun. Had a yummy shrimp skewer and the seared Maine salmon and both were delicious. Our service was outstanding. A bit of a mixup on the bill with who ate what but easily corrected. This would be one of my favorites, if I lived in the area, especially when I could sit outside!!!

I went for lunch last week as I work in the area. It had a standard diner menu, portions are quite large. Coffee is hot and just so-so. The service was alright, hustle and bustle of a busy diner. I sat at the bar, it was very clean.
