I love a great steak house, but this one needs a lesson on customer experience! First off, I ordered my filet mignon medium well (no blood), and it came out somewhere more between rare/medium! The server, Thomas, agreed it was not medium well & quickly took it back. Luckily I held back my salad, that they had already hastily tried to take away before I was finished! We had also ordered the âcouch potatoesâ which were supposed to be served on a bed of rosemary. They came out on a bed of parsley. I asked who I presume was the water boy, as I hadnât seen Thomas since sending back my filet, who quickly ran over to Thomas with my concern. Thomas sent him back with the response âit is basil rosemaryâ. Huh?! Is that a mutant spice?! Still no Thomas to make apologies or amends. We didnât touch the potatoes, yet nobody asked if there was a problem or offer to take off the bill. Not worried about the $10, but it was a matter of principle. For the prices we just paid, Iâd expect first class customer service. This was not. Food was good (once cooked as ordered) but missed the mark on client experience. I wonât rush back.

Found this place by chance while looking for some lunch, what a lucky find. This is a great place that I would recommend to anyone. The food was very good, the service was great, and the prices reasonable.

We read lots of good things about this place on TA and it was for a good reason. They have a great menu with lots of options, many that have unique twists on traditional favorites. We got an omelet, pancakes, a breakfast sandwich, and huevos rancheros. Everyone was pleased with their meal, though all of us agreed it wasn't quite 5 stars. Due to the nice atmosphere, good food and solid service I would definitely return. The Commissary has multiple deals throughout the week. When we went, it was bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys (Monday) which seemed like a good deal.Bottomless Mondays are a huge thing at Commissary. On your next visit make sure you try our many other deals @GDGandTBiggsMy personal fav is the breakfast for two deal on our breakfast and brunch menu.

So I have gotten a little lazy as I have about 50 reviews in the pipeline but our meal tonight lit a fire under me to laud this joint to the stars. We just had a good experience. Great server, check. Interesting well-prepared foods ( Come on lychee nuts) two wonderful pastas and dorado, check. Nice joint, reasonable wine list. Check, check.Seamless and different from anything else we have had in a couple of years. Not exorbitantly expensive, sacre bleu!

This restaurant is Not easy to get into. It is extremely popular for good reasons! We missed out last time we were in DC, so weâre vigilant about booking a month out, for a special occasion with our daughter, who lives nearby. It also just happened to be Fatherâs Day in our home country of Australia.I remembered that the restaurant was tucked away in some laneways of the trendy neighbourhood of Shaw. It was bustling and full of all sorts of people by 6pm. Itâs fun and casual with an open kitchen.I have to admit that the menu had not appealed to me; maybe a couple of small plates....Well! Every dish was a delight! From the snacks of shishito peppers, the best bread and spread I have ever had, the scallops crudo, yellowfin tuna, the intense but subtle flavours of the quail and wild rice, and the absolutely amazing savour cornbread! Beautifully presented and served. Cocktails and a range of wines by the glass. This is a Must! Loved everything about this restaurant that feels a bit like the South with its genuine gutsyness, warmth and friendliness but more sophisticated in its complexity.

We had an incredible meal there and I was happily surprised to see sweetbreads on the menu. The food is really good, a shortish menu which guarantees quality, and a really nice wine list.I was also happy to be someone's guest...

I call this a great hotel bar since I was staying there. However, I recommend visiting if in the area. I met a few folks who were staying nearby but came to this place instead of the competition. Bar seating is limited but there is plenty of small tables around the Doyle. I had a little difficulty to get initial drinks both nights that I was there but, once served, service was good.Like any upscale DC bar, drink costs are not buck a beer. However, this is not a pounding drinks bar either. There are nice customers to strike up conversations so coming alone is not an issue.Dear oldstocks, Thank you for visiting us at Doyle Bar and for staying with us at The Dupont Circle Hotel. We hope you enjoyed our time with us and will stay with us again in the future. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the service at Doyle Bar but also want to offer our sincere apologies for any delay in service that you experienced. Thank you for recommending us as a great upscale DC bar, a great place to visit for a solo drink or to meet new people. We look forward to your next visit so we can craft you some more excellent cocktails. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you would like to plan your next visit to Doyle Bar at [email protected] Regards,Nitin TitusFood and Beverage Manager

Took the family here for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had reservations and arrived 15 minutes early and were seated right away. The waiter was very nice and explained everything about the menu and the specials. My wife had the stone crabs and really enjoyed them. I had the 16oz porter and it was great very juicy, flavorful, and was a good medium cook. I also highly recommend the Boston Cream pie for dessert. Although it was a very expensive meal, everyone enjoyed it and thought it was worth the price.

We stopped in for a drink prior to dinner. We had hoped to sit on the patio and all the outdoor tables were occupied. Our server said she would keep an eye out and try to move us if one opened up. Our seat inside was just fine. The room is cozy and comfortable. We stuck to wine. However, the cocktail menu looked like it had some fun options.Sure enough, a table opened up outdoors as we finished our first glasses. We decided to stay for another glass to enjoy the outdoor table. The patio is not large, but private and pleasant on a nice Spring evening. If we didn't have reservations for dinner we probably would have chosen to stay at Quill and try the food.
