Until a year ago I hailed from the lovely Garden State. The whole NY/NJ area is full of establishments boasting of the âbest pizzaâ. There is all kinds: brick oven, coal oven, wood fired, and the corner pizza restaurant. So I am jaded and abit of a snob when it comes to pizza pie as we North Newarkerâs called it growing up.Fast forward and I marry a Detroiter and there are trips to his home state visiting in-laws and friends to celebrate (graduations and weddings) and mourn (hospitalizations and deaths). Early on I quickly learned that Jersey wasnât the only pizza that locals areproud of, there are many of them out there. The first time I ate Detroit Style Pizza, I fell in love. I had Buddyâs square pizza. The dough gets a double rise which when baked makes it an airy but well structured. The cheese is Wisconsin brick cheese. I donât know what that is but it is stretchy and somewhat tart. It is a perfect accompaniment to the sweeter tomato sauce. The cheese is put on the dough first followed by the sauce. The pie is in a rectangular sheet pan w/ sides and then baked to perfection (IMHO). You can order a half which is four pieces or a whole which is eight slices. All pizzas can be accessorized and there are some such as the Ultimate Italian, the New Yorker and so forth. There are other non pizza options and I recommend the Chopped Antipasto Salad that my husband says is yummo. If you are in the Detroit area and can get to a Buddyâs I guarantee you will have an unforgettable pizza. Heydonât tell my Jersey buds!We are honored to receive your vote of confidence, as we are thrilled to know you are now a Buddy's Pizza fan. Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience and for sharing your favorites. We aim to serve only the best and we look forward to serving you at your next visit. Thank you!

Diamond Jim Brady's Bistro Bar since 1954, originally in Detroit, now nestled in Novi, Michigan. All the charm of a bistro with the neighborhood feel of your local bar. Certified Executive Chef/Owner Mary Brady & Chef/Managing Partner Sharon Juergens serv
Nice casual atmosphere with good food and attentive staff. Mussels appetizer is a family favorite. Salads are always fresh and tasty. Burgers are big and juicy. Nice selection of wines to go with any meal. In a world where itâs difficult to find a reasonably price local restaurant, diamond Jim Brady stands out.

They have a very extensive menu and the items we had were satisfactory. The Reuben grill sandwich was very large and tasty. My wife's chicken salad was very generous in size and rather boring. The place was bustling and quite noisy on a weekday at 1 PM. Our waitress was efficient. One odd thing, when I presented my credit card for payment the waitress said I had to tell her the tip amount before she rang it up. This kind of puts pressure on you to leave a bigger tip than may be deserved.

Voted "2011 Top 10 Best New Restaurants of Detroit" by Hour Magazine readers "Handsomely presented and well-executed dishes." - Sylvia Rector, Detroit Free Press Toasted Oakâs cozy dining room offers an exceptional restaurant experience highlighting local
At this price point I would expect more. Some dishes were seasoned almost but not quite well and there were elements on the plate that detracted from the dish. The pork belly was yummy but the accompaniments did not highlight it. The fish of the day (Halibut) was the other way around: baby squash and zucchini were the best things on the plate- fish was slightly over (dry) and sauce was a bit overly salty. Still, this was the best restaurant of the ones we visited in the Novi area so it got 4 circles. Dear LLLLLNNNNN,We aim to impress, so I'm sorry that your experience was just okay. Your comments, which highlight our successes and areas for improvement, are welcomed as they foster change for the better. I sometimes have church meetings here and if found the food to be decent and the prices Fair. Not much to say about this sort of restaurant as they are not meant to be fancy or epicurean.Just a nice family-oriented place where you can have a cup of coffee or some breakfast while talking with friends.

Benstein Grille is a moderately priced 160-seat restaurant offering American cuisine-style food and service. Lamb chops, steaks, fresh seafood, pastas and salads along with classic "two-fisted" sandwiches are all on the menu. Specialty selections include
Was here on a Sunday with friends. Very nice restaurant with a nice brunch menu. Excellent waitstaff, I think Andrea. There were 5 of us and everyone enjoyed their selection. I got the Wolverine Reuben which was great. I could only eat half, and took the other half home for another lunch. The seasoned fries are to die for. Reasonably priced. Limited parking area. Thanks for the visit and awesome review Maryann! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed brunch and the rest of the experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Cheers

We had 6 for a birthday and even though it wasn't very busy on a Sunday for lunch, we had to wait almost 15 minutes for a table, they seemed to not have enough wait staff that particular day and there was a party of about 14 a head of us. BBQ full slab was very good, brisket and pulled pork was good but a little underwhelming. Sides were all excellent including asparagus, mac and cheese and corn bread. Kids had pancakes, french toast, sausage and ham and they thought it was excellent.

Maurice Salad and service were excellent. Only disappointment was split charge. We should have been told before. In addition to the large salad, we ordered a quart of soup and order of tabbouleh to go. $35.00 order for two should not have incurred a sharing charge. The pita bread was warm but under done.

Went here for a business lunch; the restaurant is very large, so it shouldn't be a problem to find a space to sit. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad; it was a large portion, and tasty. Our server was efficient, and was there for what we needed. Overall, a good lunch option for the area.
