Old Towne Inn Supper Club

While staying at the nearby Westby B&B we decided to have dinner hear. The place was packed on a Friday night at 7:15pm. As we did not dot have a reservation we waited in the attached bar and watched some college football to pass the time. This an old time supper club minus the relish tray. It was darker with a majority older crowd. There were many, many locals dining which I usually take as a good sign of the quality.I went with the special: an 8 oz sirloin cut in house and my wife went with the pork chop. They have a small salad bar that from a distance looked okay, but up close was actually quite nice. One choice of lettuce but there were many toppings as well as pasta salad, potato salad, sauerkraut etc. The only thing missing that the menu claimed was a soup on the bar. When we came back to the table there was fresh bread waiting for us.The dinners came cooked to order and both the pork and beef were of very good quality. We were too stuffed to try dessert but I saw several people order them and the pies looked great. If I'm in the area I would definitely eat here again.

This is a gas station similar to a Circle K or 7 / 11, but inside is a wide varaity of food available to take out or eat there. They even have a kitchen that cooks meals like chicken and meatloaf, with potatoes and coleslaw etc. They also have the usual hot dogs and pizza. OUR CHICKEN WAS GREAT, which we took back to our room.

An afternoon visit to the Tangled Hickory Wine Bar provided a group of friends with a warm welcome, a truly knowledgeable young bartender, and many good laughs. We sipped assorted beverages prepared by Lydia, and enjoyed a few rounds of bar dice. She was friendly and gave us some interesting information about the town of Viroqua, which most of us had never visited. The freshly made glass of sangria (I had red wine) was delicious, and the charming atmosphere of this nicely appointed bar provided us with a need to make a return visit.

We had breakfast here most days whilst staying at the midway motel which is just a few yards away. The breakfasts were very good and set you up for the day, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The orange juice and coffee were very good too, could not fault it.

Cheese Corner

I went to the Cheese Corner last weekend and got the vibe that I was about to be impressed. It is a little hole-in-the-wall operation with juicy, flavorful, bold subs that are just right for a road trip or a lunch in town. I recommend the Cuban. Side not: There is a lot of mayo on the subs, which I loved, but if you're not up for that ask them to go light. We are so happy that you enjoyed your time at our little operation! We do rather enjoy our mayo and we are so glad that you share our affections!

Driftless Cafe

Reviewed By 38clayg

The Driftless Cafe is the trendy restaurant you’d never expect to find in Viroqua. All of the food is absolutely incredible. I’d go so far as to say the beef tenderloin is among the top cuts of beef I’ve ever eaten. As someone who doesn’t normally eat fancy cheeses, even the cheese plate blew me away. Much of this comes down to the local ingredients they use. The menu is small and rewritten daily to best use the local ingredient options.
