This place has been around for years. From what I can tell, the management changes pretty frequently. The dirtyness of the place is evident the minute you walk in the door, and everything feels like it needs a good cleaning and updating. The layout is odd with old spanish-style decor, and I'm thinking this may have been a Godfathers or something back in the 70's. They do have a large selection of menu items, but everything I have tried has been average at best. They had a nacho bar the final time we were there and we decided to try it. When we walked around the corner and actually saw it, we just sat back down.

Love the atmosphere but the food is eminently forgettable. Think deep fried frozen shrimp and mass produced French fries, burgers on white buns. On the other hand, if you enjoy fried bar food, you'll love it. The beer selection is good and there are plenty of grad students to talk to.
We were driving around Vermilion and found this little gem of a placeVery nice atmosphere in this place. If you have been in the Alpine Inn in Hill City, SD their menu is just about the same as theirs. They offer different sizes of steaks, offer a wedge of lettuce for your salad and a baked potato. Just basics and it our steak was cooked to perfection. On weekends they offer only prime rib. Very reasonable prices and nice bar selection Our wait staff was most excellent and everyone was friendly. We were newbies there and treated us well and explained their menu and mentioned Alpine Inn which we always go to when we go to the hills. We shall be back!

We went early on a Sunday for a large family lunch with about 20 people. We arrived at 11 which probably helped. They accommodated us with a nice long reserved table. We had an assortment of inexpensive fried appetizers that were fun to share including fried mushrooms, corn fritters & cheese balls. Our table ordered shrimp, cod, burgers and more. The waitress did a very good job getting the orders right. The food arrived in groups from the kitchen - not all at the same time but that was to be expected. My cheeseburger was very good!

Dakota Brick House is the step up from the typical gastropub. With 20 rotating craft beers and our one of kind menu we bring something completely new to Vermillion. We are here to provide Vermillion with great beer, amazing food and great service. We want
We had a group of 9 and they were very accomodating to pull several small tables together for us. Several of our group had pizza, which was really good. A couple of us had salads that were not so great - this was during the big romaine recall, so they told us they were substituting with mixed greens, but the lettuce looked like all iceberg, which was disappointing. I didn't try any of the beers, but others in our group did and enjoyed them. The waitress was very attentive (but not annoying!) and the food came out quickly, in spite of them being very busy that evening. The restaurant was very loud, so hard to talk among our large group except whoever was sitting next to you.

RED Steakhouse is a casual dining destination that appeals to all aspects of Vermillion and the surrounding community. Affordable, creative and chef inspired menu options for everyone to enjoy!
Went with a group for lunch. We were seated right away and drink orders taken. They have diet Mt. Dew, which is a huge plus in my book! The menu had plenty of variety without being overly large. The French onion soup was excellent. The gyro sandwich and burgers were all perfectly done and delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!!

I feel like if I had a chance to go again I would give 17 stars. The food is amazing and delicious. I tried a Foggy London and wish I could try all the specialty drinks! I will someday. Did not have a dessert but wow everything looked spectacular. Highly recommend.
