Tried the chicken this last time. It was dried out and tough from sitting on the warming rack for so long. We didn't care for the Tex Mex on the first visit so decided to try the chicken. On the plus side though, the bisquit was good.

The service was better than most and the staff was friendly. I really like Subway sandwiches because they have a lot of veggies (if you like) and not so much meat & cheese. I like the oil & vinegar for dressing. They are definitely worth checking out if you are in Anna.

I don't expect much from Chicken Express. I just want my chicken cooked through and my biscuits hot. This one made that happen for me.

Best wings in a 30 mile radius and I ain't kidding! they are smoked to perfection with crazy good sauce blends. Try the Alabama white sauce and the daddy fire confetti. They also have my sweet potato fries! They are crispy and fresh every time I can really tell the difference. If you're there on Wednesday say hello to Sam and she will treat you well! Their wings and ribs are a must try!

We stopped for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the qualify of the food. Spouse's hamburger was huge and delicious. My grilled ham and cheese had an actual piece of ham in it instead of sliced luncheon meat. The fries were tasty and my milk shake was the right consistency to drink through a straw without being soup. We look forward to bringing the grandchildren.

The first Golden Chick I've been to with lousy service. I don't recall seeing one good, friendly server at the drive-thru. It's a bit pricey also. Food tastes fine, but I think I have visited this one for the last time.

Riding around the area and stopped in for Lunch. Place was clean, service was friendly. Burger, Tots, very good, but a little on the expensive side for what you get. No refills on the drink, came in a can. Place seemed to be trying for a sports/bar/grill but could use some help. Overall good burger, but that's all I can say.

We wanted to try somewhere new, so we decided to eat in Val Alstyne at Buck Snort BBQ!Om: What an absolutely charming restaurant in a small town! It was a 20+ minute drive that we would certainly make again. We walked in about 75 minute before close, and only one other couple was in the restaurant. Ok, let’s get this out of the way – for those that have had some BBQ experience, I doubt that Buck Snort is going to top your list. Their meat options are limited to four (chicken, lean brisket, sausage, and pulled pork), and I they are served buffet style, and I’m normally not a huge fan of food sitting out under a warmer. The brisket was sitting in juice mixture, which helped to counteract the leanness of the meat, as I am normally a fan of the marbled variety. Pulled pork was alright. As for the sausage you could probably find in a nice supermarket and grill some up yourself. I only had one of their sides, the cheesy hash browns, and those were very good. They also offered chocolate chip cookies and rolls. The meal itself was ordinary – nothing bad, nothing that I would specifically go back for. All that being said, everything else was delightful! This is a one-man show, and Mr. Smith (owner) from what I can tell, does everything. So yea, there are limited meats, but he’s ONE MAN, and a nice one at that. The place had some old-timey music playing with a lot of older décor around. TV’s that have seen their better days were playing some college games. Mr. Jim Smith offered us some cherry cobbler that he had, and was very personable. The “all-you-can-eat” buffet was less than $13, so a good deal. The restaurant was immaculate as far as cleanliness. Would we go back for the food only? It’s debatable. However, Buck Snort offers so much more than just a meal, it gives a glimpse into what a small town (pop. 3,599) restaurant looks like, headed up by someone that cares about his business and is doing his best to bring some delicious BBQ to anyone that makes the adventure out. Mr. Smith, you are certainly a success in our book, and my beautiful Nom and I were certainly make a trip out there again.Nom: So this was a good surprise for us! We went back and forth trying to decide if we should even leave the house! Good thing we did  It’s everything you would picture in your head about small town BBQ. I have to hand it to Mr. Smith running this place on his own, good food, good prices and priceless atmosphere! I just had a chicken sandwich and it’s like I would make for myself, chicken pulled from a roasted chicken in a HUGE pile on a white bun. It was tasty too! I really enjoyed the chicken. The taste of everything reminded me of when I was growing up, on Sunday afternoon after church the lunch we would have outside with the rest of the members of our church. You remember? That delicious potato salad, the one you needed the recipe to and the BBQ beans and cheese potatoes…yeah, that kind of food that warms your heart and takes you back to a simpler time when you could relax. Then once I was really full he brings out cherry cobbler…yeah…it was delicious and I look forward to our return trip, my handsome love and I!
