Our favourite gluten-free pizzeria/burger joint/restaurant was closed for the holidays. The AIC (Italian Coeliac Association) app showed us this nearby safe alternative.Burgers are a good size - 120g of meat for standard, 240 for maxi. The meat is well cooked and even the GF buns are impressively edible. My GF glamourous assistant struggled to eat all of the maxi classic. The Hellburger (standard size) was nearly as much as I can eat (it's just not fair that she weighs 50Kg and I weigh 85!). We came to the conclusion one portion of chips (french fries for you transatlantic readers) would have been enough. You can also have a variety of sandwiches and hot dogs. We didn't ask whether these could be GF. I had the "Chicago" hot dog, with more jalapeno. It's big, but not based on a frankfurter (but then I never had a hotdog in Chicago, so this could be authentic). You get a decent sized sausage for your money. The beer list includes GF beer, as well as some respectable German draughts. I observed that you can also get CocaCola if you are dry or under 18.This is a place I can see my grandchildren enjoying when they visit at Christmas, and we shall return!Altogether, the bill came to â¬32, laughably affordable. You do have to eat with your hands, and the electric hand dryer in the lavatory doesn't do much of a drying job. But when those are the worst things you can say about a restaurant, you'll probably do like us and go back again and again.

The sign states it is a Carne Speciale and that they do. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich which was bigger than I expected and quite good. OK my brothers Pulled Pork is hard to beat but I did enjoy this sandwich. The menu is quite extensive with a good choice of meat dishes. I saw a few other plates come out and the portions were good. The Beer menu is also quite extensive with beer from the UK, Belgium, Germany ... The staff were friendly and the service was good. The atmosphere is nice and sort of rustic with tables inside and outside. The place looks a bit small from the outside but there is seating in the back as well. They was a private party going on in the back when I was there. I sat outside as it was a coolish evening (it was one of those hot 38 C days) and there were a few mosquitos but they had the coils burning which kept them a bay pretty well. The cost was quite reasonable and it is a place you could take the family to really. The party in the back had everyone for 1 yr old up so its ok I think. I will definitely be going there again as I will be here for a while. They take Credit Cards as well.

Me and my husband went this weekend, we will not be returning. The staff seemed attentive, and helpful. We was advised to speak to the in house butcher about which steak we would prefer, we explained we only eat lean meat, preferably no fat at all, my husband asked for medium to well-cooked and for me medium rare, we ate the meat that the butcher recommended. It arrived, mine was well cooked and my husbands medium, there was more fat than meat, it wasn't even chewable (which I tried to do to save face) Every single mouth full was more fat than meat, the potato wedges were cold and hard, and the vegetables.. We'll we both didn't even attempt the veg! The dessert was absolutely delicious!!!! (this is why I gave the 2 stars) We paid the bill â¬80 for 2 courses and 2 beers!! Wowza!! We left and went to a local bar for some thing else!
