I arrived too late for lunch but order a cupcake and good cup of coffee to enjoy. I asked about the soup of the day but the lunch crowd had taken everything. They make gluten free bakery goods including cakes. There is outside tables where I enjoyed my cup of coffee. I hope to return for lunch on this trip.

The food is wonderful (though my clams were a bit gritty the last time I ordered them) - that is not usually the case. The food isconsistently good, as is the service and selection. Desserts are woderful!

Artisan Bakery, From Scratch Deli Meats; House-smoked Salmon & other meats; Delicious Middle Eastern Dishes (falafel, sabih, hummus, etc..); Craft Beers/Ciders; Spacious/Private Outdoor Seating
I have been a couple of times with family when in the area. They aim to please and do it each time. Some great standards and also some unique things on the menu. Save room for dessert or bring some home with you.

Family friendly restaurant serving fresh food with local ingredients. Fall/Winter hours are: Sunday thru Thursday 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Friday and Saturday 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
The chef & owner (a former chef at Chathamâs Blue Plate restaurant), opened Magdalenaâs in Valatie, a Mexican restaurant, before opening the Chatham Grill in 2016. The Chatham Grill is a casual looking restaurant, but the food is a cut above. While there are Mexican options, like a burrito & quesadilla, on the lunch menu, they also have salads, sandwiches, burgers, meatloaf, grilled salmon, etc. My friend enjoyed the soup special, roasted corn & avocado gazpacho, plus a crab cake appetizer while I enjoyed my lunch special as well. If I lived closer, I think I'd come more often...

Weâve been coming to Carolina House for almost twenty years.Although the food now has serious local competition, it is always a wonderful warm place to dine. The wait staff works hard and are always friendly. The menus are predictable and comforting. They could improve the kitchen, but the atmosphere counter balances and menu discrepancies.I do think they need to have local beers on tap.

We stopped here for dinner. The place was 75% busy. We sat near the bar at the high top tables, the other room has comfy chairs and coffee tables to eat from along with a nice fireplace for added ambiance. Our waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Our food was very tasty! We ordered the Shepardâs Pie special and a burger with fries. Itâs a great place and we will be stoping here again!

Used to be a must stop for soft ice cream. Now too expensive, $4.00 medium twist and the young servers ask if you want a cup as the consistency/texture is not there. Soft serve can't stay on cone without dipping over. A holy mess for little kids, can't seem to get it right.

We were in the area to pick apples and needed to find a place to eat lunch. We happened upon the Columbia Diner on Route 9H just south of the roundabout. What caught my eye was the marque stating Mexican food. I'm always up for some good Mexican food especially if it is authentic. This fit the bill! The interior is what you would expect of a diner. There was a lunch counter, booths and tables. Nothing fancy but the facility was clean and well lit. The menu itself was typical of most diners. There was just about everything you could imagine. They had a sign board showing the daily specials and then there was the Mexican section of the menu.I got the Beef Chimichanga and my wife got the Chicken Quesadillas. Both entrees were accompanied by fresh (so hot we couldn't touch them) tortilla chips and a pico de gallo that was nothing short of fabulous. Both entrees were served on a plate with sides of refried beans and Spanish rice. The flavors were delicious and the food was well prepared. It arrived to us hot and in a timely fashion.I am so glad we stopped at this restaurant and will return when we are back in the Valatie area.

Had an assortment of sandwiches, all of which were good. All were filling without going to the extreme mega sandwich, which is simply wasteful. The ingredients were all good as well. The potato salad was terrific, really exceptional. Price was very reasonable. They would be a regular stop if we were local. If you are passing thru, give them a visit.

No arguement, this is hands down the best restaurant in the area. From tbe prices, to the portions to the service, no place else comes close.
