Reviews on American food in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Located in the northern part of the country, high above sea level, Ulan Bator is the coldest capital city in the world. The cultural and business center of Mongolia, and a hub connecting the Trans-Siberian Railway with the Chinese rail system, Ulan Bator has become a thriving urban center in one of the most remote locations in the world. Visit the Tibetan-style Gandan Monastery, one of the few buildings in Ulan Bator to predate WWII and one of the few monasteries to survive the Soviet purge.

The Christmas at Bojangles was excellent. Ian's team of Rezal, Jojo et al gave great service. The set meal was 55,000 mnt and included traditional turkey and trimmings, ham, a starter and BJs Xmas pudding. We had a family group of 23 or more with some friends as well. All thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and entertainment. I hear disappointing reviews of other bars Xmas lunches. So if you do not Shangri La it, BJs may well be the top Xmas venue in line.

I came here to have an enjoyable meal with a new friend... the service, as well as the food, were beyond disappointing. I did not get the food I ordered... when I did, it wasnât fully cooked. My friends meal was so burnt parts could not be eaten. To be honest, staff was preparing for a large banquet, but when I complained to management, no real effort was made to remedy the situation. I have been to hard rock cafes around the world... donât waste your time or money on this one. Frustrating and just bad all around

We stopped in on a warm summer afternoon for a snack. I had the bacon cheese burger and a cold Chinggis beer, while my wife enjoyed the Mongolian Khushuur and a fruit juice. Both of us were very satisfied with our choices. The menu is extensive with lots of meat as well as fish and pasta. The general ambiance is very pleasant. Inside you can lounge in leather sofas or sit at tables, or you can choose to sit outside and watch the traffic on Seoul Street.

Probably the best pizza in town. Big slices and sizeable side dishes. Open til late, like most food places. They have a great deal for those on a budget: two slices of pizza, one garlic pastry thing, and either a salad or fried potato wedges for T8,999 (AUD5.00). Definitely a filler.

Serving the best burgers & dogs in Ulaanbaatar at an affordable price.
I saw a sign for American burgers, and after a week in the Gobi Desert, that's exactly what I felt like. When I went in though, they were a Vietnamese restaurant. It was great food, and very cheap. I recommended it to somebody who was staying in my hostel and she also really enjoyed it.According to somebody I spoke to later, there is a 2nd Joes nearby which does the burgers. I was not disappointed by the Vietnamese food though, and reccommend a visit.

Good value for money for what you receive. It's tasty, big portions, nice ambience and very friendly staff. You can view Ulaanbaatar from the large window. The view is scenic in summer or spring. It feels fancy, but the prices are not pretentious. We will be back again soon.

It doesn't look much from the outside but is nicer inside. The staff were quite attentive and spoke some English. The menu is quite vast and should have something for everyone. Sushi, soups, Pizza, pasta, chicken, steaks, burgers and more plus a huge drinks option. Prices are not the very cheapest but the portions are large and taste good. I had sushi to start and then the Orange Chicken and I enjoyed both. They also have cider here! Good all round experience

Waiters were so slow that I had to go by myself to place an order.Although I ordered Espresso and Americano (the place literally had only one table besides us) it took them 15minutes to serve us. We were about to leave when our order arrived. If 2 coffees take that much time, how long does one have to wait for a meal?
