Excellent contemporary American cuisine. Lots of class. Superb tastes.
Stella's is Cedar House Sports Hotel's in house restaurant (serving breakfast to guests only except for scheduled events). The food preparation was excellent and plentiful, and the variety was more than enough to suit every taste: Fresh fruits, lox and bagels, eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, pastries, breads and muffins, hot and cold cereals. Very friendly servers.

Cottonwood provides rustic elegance in a historic setting and has been a fixture of Truckee's vibrant dining scene for 30 years. Housed in a historical ski lodge constructed in 1928 to serve as a warming hut for the town of Truckee's ski and toboggan hill
Dined at Cottonwood Restaurant on June 20, 2019. It was for dinner and my comments/ratings are as follows:1. Although drinks/cocktails are served from the same bar, we were told that they will only serve happy hour drinks if we are seated indoors. Due to the warm weather, we opted to seat outdoors.2. Ordered Crab Cakes, Meatballs and Green Salad for starters. The Crab Cakes did not have much crabs (mostly fillers), Meatballs also did not have much meat in it (also mostly fillers) and the Salad was wilted and over-dressed.3. Next we ordered Chicken Wings but the ready made Chicken Wings from Costco is so much more tastier and better than what they serve.4. Cost of a glass of mediocre white wine is $12.00.Everything they have on the menu are overpriced and didnât satisfy any of us. If you are in Truckee and looking for a good restaurant, donât even consider Cottonwood Restaurant. It was a big disappointment. I give it 1-star out of 5-star. The only thing good about the restaurant is the location with a view.We are disappointed that we did not provide a satisfactory experience for you, Virgilio. On your first point, our happy hour is a promotion for the bar only. However, there is outdoor seating off the end of the bar that we refer to as Area 51. It's not as grand as eating on the main deck that was voted best outdoor dining in North Tahoe by the 2019 readers of Tahoe Quarterly, but the locals like to hang out there. I'm surprised at your comments on the crab cakes and meatballs. When the crab cakes rolled out last week, they were in high demand, even from our staff, who eat well. We will check our process for consistency. And the meatballs are house made from trimmings off the house cut steaks. On the wines, we willingly provide a tasting before purchase to ensure it meets the customers' satisfaction. As of today, our last three reviews on Google were 5-stars, but since we did not satisfy your group, we will try harder.

Fun and busy place. Ate outside on patio on a lovely evening. Burger was above average and grilled shrimp was good with sweet potato fries. Service was just ok, not great. Beer lovers will enjoy.

Rubicon Pizza Co. was established in 2007 and is the sister restaurant of Fireside Pizza Co. In Squaw Valley, CA and Base Camp Pizza Co. In South Lake Tahoe, CA. We specialize in Californian styled pizza dishes but also brush the palette on a wide variety
Lynn and I and friends recently stopped for a late lunch at Rubicom Pizza Company while visiting the nearby Welk Resort. I had a sausage ravioli dish that was really quite good. Lynn has shrimp scampi with spaghetti. Stephen, our server was good. Though the restaurant was not busy. I can imagine that this restaurant is very popular during the ski season.

A long standing establishment in a historic town, this place has a pleasant atmosphere, good food, friendly service, and a nice whiskey selection. It's hard to go wrong, really! This time, we sat at the bar and ordered cocktails from an attentive, friendly bartender. We decided on lettuce wraps, which came quickly and were quite tasty; large enough to share, btw. The last time we were there we actually sat at a table after starting at the bar. The service was very good, the food was very well presented and tasty. The cool thing was they never kicked us out in spite of the fact we stayed there for a couple of hours chatting with friends. The location is ideal, just off Lake Tahoe's circumnavigatable highways. Chill here and go for a walk down the quaint little streets when you're done.

Stopped here on the way to Donner Lake to get incredibly large, freshly made subs (turkey and pesto chicken were excellent) as well as salads, also freshly made and a bargain at $8. A great lunch take-out spot.

Moody's Bistro Bar & Beats is the place in Truckee for great food and atmosphere. Set in the warmhearted ambiance of the historic Truckee Hotel, Moody's complements its fine dining with critically-praised, nationally-touring Jazz, Americana, Soul and Rhyt
Great atmosphere on the first floor of an old hotel. It is like going back in time. The staff is efficient but not particularly friendly. Very nice wine and beer list. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. We started with a few salads for the table, and all were great. My wife had the hanger steak which she thought was very well prepared, and the best fries in Tahoe. My son in law and I both had the chicken which was well presented and delicious. My daughter had the vegetarian pasta, and thought it was the best meal on our entire trip. It is worth going here. We've sent you a private message as a personal thank you for this review. We hope to see you in again soon!

The cafe is small and can get very busy during breakfast hours. We arrived here about 10:30 a.m. on a Wednesday, and there was a fifteen minute wait to get a table. There are seats and a self-serve coffee station on the boardwalk outside the restaurant, so the wait wasn't unpleasant. The owner was on site during our visit. The staff members were friendly. The dining room is quite small and the tables are set close together. It was noisy when we first arrived, but cleared out a bit while we were there which reduced the noise level. There is only a single restroom, and no good place to stand while waiting your turn in line, so that was a little inconvenient. You can order off their breakfast or lunch menu at any time during the day. The breakfast entrees that we saw coming out of the kitchen (breakfast burritos, corned beef hash with a potato cake) all looked good. We opted to order lunch. I got a veggie hoagie served warm, and my husband ordered a C.B.L.T.A. which also came on a hoagie roll. The bread was from Truckee Sourdough bakery. My husband ordered potato salad with his sandwich. I ordered the kettle chips. He liked the flavor of the potato salad -- which was topped with bits of French fried onion straw -- but thought they used a little too much mayo in the recipe. My chips were a disappointment. I'd assumed they be house made. Instead, I was presented with a small bag of Lay's Potato Chips. And the weren't even Lay's kettle chips. My sandwich was tasty. A little messy, but good food and just the right amount. My husband said that the chicken on his sandwich was sort of dry, but the other ingredients made the overall sandwich moist enough to be palatable. Our food came out quickly after we placed our order. I had iced tea with my meal. It was freshly brewed and refreshing. At the end of the meal, the waitress presented our check and informed us that she'd inadvertently given our tab to a couple who had been dining at an adjacent table. They paid without looking closely at it and left. So the waitress gave us their bill. She tried to put a positive spin on this by letting us know that their tab was less than ours. So we got a bargain. Still, this wasn't an impressive end to our experience here. Nevertheless, we would eat here again as there are other menu items we are interesting in trying.

Shared a plate with vegetarian sisters-in-law and it was good. The queen French toast. Huge portion. My brother-in-law who is a vegan was able to have choices too and he enjoyed it.
