Though situated adjoining a busy road like Ambujavilasam road near to Pulimood junction, Cafe 1976 is a cosy, neat and quiet cafe within the walls of Hotel Capitol.The cafe is famous for juicy burgers and hot dogs. Their double patties beef burger is what I would recommend and to gulp down I would like to recommend their hot chocolate.

First of all well trained and polite staff. It is an excellent place to have a nice fine dining experience with family. It wasn't crowded, we were instantly assisted by the waiter, who was extremely helpful and suggestive. We started of with Tom Kha, very Thai, coconut based soup. It was thick, flavourful and tasty. Dumplings aka Momos were served with a wonderful spicy sauce. Later we ordered Lifu rice, fried rice tossed with herbs and spices. And for the Sizzlers, grilled chicken in mushroom sauce was extremely tasty. The fish dish we ordered, forgot the name, was the only thing that was not that great. It was little too fishy for my taste. We ended it off with hand churned Icecream of custard apple flavour. It was really yummy. They even gave us strawberry sample to taste. overall great experience.Thank you for the lovely comments!! Such reviews motivate us and encourage us to keep the standards to the T. The manager of the resort where I was staying took me to the shop in front of this place a few days ago and I was very impressed by how clean and tidy it was. I could only buy nuts but the choice of chocolates and Indian snacks was vast.Today we ate in the restaurant behind and as I'm on a strict ayurvedic diet I couldn't have anything fried. I went for a rice dosa but they didn't have a paneer (indian cheese) version. I asked them if they could make one with cheese and onion and what came out was wonderful and delicious. The masala tea also came in an interesting way - not pre mixed - and also tasted great.My friends had masala tea and 4 veg cutlets, 2 veg and 2 chicken. The bill came to 204R! I left 250 as a tip.Everything else looked so tasty I would highly recommend this place.
