The food was decent, but I felt the environment in the restaurant to be stuffy. My husband and I are foodies and have been to many upscale restaurants and had no problem bringing our 9 and 11 year old kids with us. There was no kid menu and the chef was unwilling to make anything that wasnât on the menu. There was a noodle dish on the menu, but they were unwilling just to serve us the noodles with butter on them. We had to pay the $26 to eat the dish with the toppings etc. on the side. The bathroom was very dirty and I noticed huge cob webs throughout the restaurant which tells me they donât take the time to clean carefully and deeply. It was also very hot in the restaurant. They definitely needed air conditioning.

There were eight of us who were cycling from Travers City to Sutton's Bay when we came upon this nice little winery. The staff was very pleasand and the electrolyte replacement fluids (aks Wine) offered were very good and certainly appreciated. The cheese and meat boards were extensive and every couple in our group certainly enjoyed them.When in the area, we will certainly stop again.

We stayed at the inn last month during the week. We went to happy hour. There was one other couple in there at the time, We had to practically beg someone to serve us. We did get our drinks, then we had to wave someone down to order a small bite. The staff was busy talking amongst themselves. One was combing her hair in front-yuck. Most of the servers sat around and chatted while wrapping silverware. The food was good. The only one who gave us a smile & friendly hello was a chef walking by. For dinner we did not want to drive into town,(we had been sampling the good wine) So we had to eat there again. Instead of sitting inside the restaurant and be treated that way again I ordered carry out, and that was a mess. I ordered a head of time and then still waited forever. This place could be a charming place to go if the servers knew what customer service is.PS we did see the goats.We apologize for your experiences at the Hearth & Vine and we appreciate your comments so that we can continue to improve our service. Our goal is to provide exceptional experiences to all of our guests whether it be at the Inn, tasting room or the cafe. My girlfriends and I stopped here for a Happy Hour cocktail during our annual Big Chill weekend together. The bar is U-shaped, which makes for a nice experience-you can chat well with one another, while also checking out the rest of the bar scene. The bartender was friendly, and immediately took our order. They have a wide variety of beer, which each of my friends ordered. I opted for the Bloody Mary-a nice cocktail, but nothing exceptional. The day was rainy and cold, and we all commented that it was a little cold in here and they should up the coziness factor. The bar is frequented by tourists and locals, so an interesting mix of people. Drinks are $1.00 off during Happy Hour, and the price point on cocktails was good.

Wow! I don't know which was better? The food or the service? Our breakfasts were abundant, hot and delicious. Our server David was outstanding and attentive! They need to hire more people like him! Fun atmosphere. Although they have outdoor seating we opted to eat indoors.

Our second visit to North Country, my wife and I chose to visit again, this time for our anniversary dinner. A bit noisy, the atmosphere was otherwise enjoyable for dinner. The wait staff, however, was over taxed by too many tables per server, causing lackluster attention. My wife and I shared both the crab and lobster cake appetizer and the lobster chowder. Both contained surprisingly large pieces of seafood and were very enjoyable. The same can be said of my wife's entre: the crab and lobster linguini. My musles, however, had been cooked with far too many onions, which overwhelmed the dish.

I went there with my two daughters on a girls day away. Really good service and tasty food! We had the sliders and shared 2 entrees between the 3 of us. Excellent flavor-loved the bacon jam! Entree had fries and coleslaw and both were very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Popped in here for dinner, the Mr and I. We both had fish and chips- very greasy- service was just okay. Not a place I'd recommend.Thank you for your review Iâm sorry your fish was greasy. I hope you mentioned this to the server. We should have paid for your meal if it wasnât satisfactory but I did not see this experience on our review board nor did I see the comp for the meals. I canât remember the last time we got a complaint about our fried fish being greasy. We filter the oil every night and we change out the oil on fryers regularly I will stay on top of this so it doesnât happen again. Thank you for visiting

My ALL TIME FAVORITE BREAKFAST / BRUNCH / LUNCH spot ANYWHERE! I cannot emphasize how highly I think of this place. Been up north many times and Martha's is part of what I miss up here. I seriously stay in Suttons Bay just so I can eat here every morning. My kids loved it too and now keep asking me when we're going to "Martha's house" lol Here's what I love 1. Bang me sandwich! How can this be so good from a non-Vietnamese place? 2. Turkey and apple sandwich! They have never gotten this wrong! 3. The mixed drinks! Bartenders are killing it back there! 4. The owner and staff who are so kind and patient with us even when we bring our toddlers or our dog Coco 5. Small sign at road telling you you've arrived. Have been here a couple times before and enjoyed ourselves. Stopped for dinner and thought the server could have been more friendly and talkative. Didn't feel like a positive aspect this time, but previous times the service has been great. Norseman is a very good beer and the BBQ sandwiches are good also. You pick up your food from the kitchen which you access from the back of the building. Lots of outside seating and fun atmosphere. While eating and drinking out back, a different employee chatted with us and he was great. Enjoyed ourselves
