The clam chowder was stunning, so good! The fries were excellent. We had the halibut and chips. The halibut itself was superb. Fresh, moist, perfect. The coating didn't wow us, though. Wasn't bad, but wasn't of the same level as the fish. Else this would have been a 5-star review.

Spent a beautiful late summer evening overlooking the river while sipping on-premises-made brews — especially enjoyed the Forest IPA. In our group we ordered The Berry Salad with salmon which featured a lite dressing that greatly enhanced the experience of this entree. The nacho plate with chicken and guacamole and the burger and fries were also generous and tasty. For dessert, the brownie with berries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream was shared and enjoyed by all while playing a game of Yahtzee. Highly recommend this casual dining spot with a Columbia River view, magnificent sunsets and relaxed atmosphere.

My sister was visiting from Minnesota and wanted to see the gorge. Being from the area I wanted to see the gorge from a different perspective, and the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler did not disappoint. We first grabbed some food to go from the restaurant who will package your food so you can eat on board (we did the two hour tour). We were greeted by a very friendly man who welcomed us aboard, told us what we needed to know about the ship, and eventually served us our beverages from the on-board bar. The two-hour cruise is worth it, but if you can only do one way, pick the westbound as the views are better. The captain provides commentary as the ship travels up and down the river, but isn't too loud or in your face, so you may still have a conversation. We went on Memorial Day and completed our cruise before the rain came in, which meant we got to see the kite boarders and wind surfers as well. Many came close to the boat and showed off. Overall, an amazing experience and a great way to see the gorge. All staff were amazing and made our time enjoyable. 100% will take future tourists on this cruise.Thank you for the wonderful review Josh, Come back soon! -Aaron

If you are looking for "comfort food" you have found the right place. Had an awesome breakfast on their deck with a group of friends. Service was great, fast and efficient. Food was as expected with huge portions and tasted awesome. I have heard this place is awesome and it did not disappoint. One things to note, and not a negative...Limited parking up close to the building, but more parking on street level (must climb a little hill to get to the place if parked on street). Will for sure go back when I am in the area.

The hotel itself has been reviewed before but the restaurant has merit as a great place for a meal for Visitors to the Columbia River gorge, or Golfers using the Skamania lodge golf course.

The Cascade Dining Room is the upscale restaurant at Skamania Resort. Beautiful views. Breakfast has nice options and quality preparations. The frittata was delicious. Dinner requires reservations. They advertise prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays. Made a reservation for Saturday night. Started with charred brussel sprouts with pappadew peppers. Delicious! Entrees ordered were the special prime rib dinner and the fresh caught Columbia River Steelhead. An hour later, we were served. The prime rib was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was ok. The meat was not hot and the asparagus was so over cooked it was limp. The salmon was served over a bed of white beans and broccolini. The fish was cooked well but the sauce was just ok. Unfortunately, there was so much oil in the beans and greens that I could not eat them. The broccolini was so over cooked it was unrecognizable. Both dishes could have used a makeover, on presentation. Flavors were ok. The hour wait was not. The waiter apologized and discounted the meal. Much appreciated. The desserts need a description makeover! Raw cashew cheesecake served in a dried fruit crust. Does that sound appetizing??The quality needs to match the high prices.

We've been here a few times, mostly in summer. Whether you sit inside (winter) or outside (summer), the experience is similar--great drinks, nice servers, and delicious-looking food. We've eaten here only once, and it was awhile ago so I'm not comment on food, but the experience of drinks is always positive. Not a fancy place at all but very comfortable!

Food was so excellent!! The mashed potatoes were out of this world. Service was lacking a tiny bit but we forgave it because the food was so stellar. Highly recommend!
