We met friends at the Hilltop Restaurant in Spencer, Indiana Having not been there in 'several' years we was really looking forward to it. We all were a bit disappointing. Our food was good....At the table one at baked ham, one had fish, one had chicken strips and another chicken and noodles. The ham was good, the chicken was well chicken and the chicken and noodles was great the fish was good. What really annoyed us was...the way we were rushed. We counted the empty table area where one could sit....there was seven places for people to sit down. Yet the waitress was very annoying. When two had finished...she needed the plates. She was told no we are fine. Well she had to have them. Then she came back and said "don't you want to go ahead and get desset now." No...we will wait until the entire table of four is done with their meals. With all the emplty seating we thought what is the rush. Sad...we were annoyed at the table way too much. The food was good....and the outside view is great. Spencer Indiana has a great restaurant in their small community.

When we were younger a smorgasbord used to be an awesome adventure. Now we have buffets. We are drawn to smorgasbords probably because of fond childhood memories. These days they typically are an excuse to eat a bunch of bad to mediocre food. Here things are pretty mediocre. The food was good not great. There was nothing special on the food bar. The best part of the smorgasbord was the salad bar. Plentiful options of average food is what you will get here. At $9.95 per person for lunch it is not pricey but no value either. We were hungry so we did eat our fair share. We do have one knock on this place, we found a hair in our scalloped potatoes. The scalloped potatoes were definitely from a mix. Overall we would rate this place 3 stars for pretty average but plentiful food. Not likely to return.

Staff Service was good, view was nice of birds, squirrels, trees. Food was "ok". But if you want a glass of wine while you watch the birds, forget it. No service for alcohol.

Very poorly run. Flies everywhere and the food was just plain gross! They have had management changes over the years but for some reason, they just can't get their act together. I ate there in August to give them another chance because I had heard they had a new manager. Still nasty.
