Yuck. How can you go wrong with NY pizza? Order from this place.Sausage, spinach pizza literally had no taste. It is hard to understand how they can miss layering flavor? Worst pizza in NY. Disappointing.

We enjoyed fish dinner on our weekend stay. The restaurant is very quaint type diner. It was jam packed but we were seated quickly and our food arrived in a decent amount of time. Our toddler was exhausted from the travels and was a bit cranky. The waitress came over and played with her for a few moments and left some crayons and paper. The fish was excellent, fried to perfection. All in all I highly recommend this diner for a good home cooked meal.

This dining room oozes atmosphere. It offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience. It is unique. It is not cookie cutter. It is like you are dining in an elegant room in Monet's Gardens in Givereny. The restaurant is tastefully done and you will not find a more elegant dining room anywhere period. The dining room looks out upon a re-creation of Monet's famous bridge and gardens complete with water lilies. The soft French music transports you thousands of miles to France. But it is not just atmosphere that makes this restaurant so unique and special. The food quality is excellent. We loved both the salmon and halibut. There is a good range of wines offered to meet any budget. Desserts are top notch, too. Service is professional and unhurried. You are treated like you have the dining room to yourself. We have dined here probably close to 100 times - since the place opened in 1999. In the past, for some time, there was something lacking here - either food consistency or service. Now you get world class dining here in a world class setting. When you put together the unique and elegant setting together with food quality and top level service, this restaurant is hard to beat by any restaurant period. You would have to be crazy not to dine at this restaurant if you are staying at the Mirbeau. the dining at the Mirbeau is just another reason to travel to this unique French country destination in the middle of New York State.

The 1820 House is a special place to me: I've celebrated anniversaries and most recently, my 25th birthday. Not only is your dinner made-to-order but this will be one of the best meals you've ever experienced. Plus, the wait staff is exceptional. Thank you for making every visit better than the last.

Staying at the Sherwood Inn again, we remembered seeing it on a previous trip and decided to drop in to this relatively new (3 years) restaurant/taproom. Parking looks like it could be a problem and we were lucky to get one the 4 parking spots out front on a snowy evening. Once inside we were told there were 8 spots around by the back entrance and that during the winter you car probably wouldn't be bothered across the street in the Topps shopping center. It is the only place of it's kind in that section of town and sits back about a 1/4 mile or so from the main restaurant/bar area on Genesee Street. Inside there is a small dining area and an attractive light wood bar with 62 beers on tap, mostly from New York state. There is even a small dining area with tables and sofas on an upper area that looks down over the main floor. The menu is small but varied and we both liked the Boston small sandwich, a turkey sandwich on a baguette with cranberry mayo and 2 sides. The Waldorf salad and the baked beans were very good and the tap pretzels turned out to be just small pretzels with a dip. The Shepherds Blueberry pilsner and Fleur De Lis Wit were both very good. That evening there was a representative from the Fleur De Lis brewery and we sampled their heritage Pumpkin Ale which was very good. Very good service and we look forward to a return trip the next time we are in town.

The restaurant is very charming. The food is really good. Everyone was satisfied with their cocktails and food. There is a very nice selections of wine. Shrimp cocktail was delicious as was the beets with ricotta cheese. Pork chop dinner with fingerling potatoes and asparagus was cooked perfectly. We also shared the garlic mashed. We decided to order the hickory smoked shredded beef with pappardelle just to try and see if we liked it. The sauce was so overpowering with smoke that none of us good eat it. The also used square pasta. Overall the dining experience was great and we would return

Definitely a nicer pub however the service is not up to par. Unfortunately, unless you're a regular, don't expect a warm welcome. If we do go, its to grab a roast beef sandwich on Mondays (buy 1, get 1). Their horseradish sauce is good but spicy!

We liked the seafood options, especially the scallops in the corn chowder and in the scallop and goat cheese salad. The swordfish tacos were pretty good, too. The bread is really great and goes beautifully with the chowders. The portions were good and the service was fine. It did feel a bit dingy inside, but I'm sure if you are eating outside on a nice night, it's a really good view and experience.
