Worth the visit! The food here is quite delicious, well prepared, and attractive presentation. Lamb Chops are excellent and the creme brûlée is fantastic! The service is adequate, but it depends who you get. Some are better than others, which of course is the case everywhere.A few tips:- Valet parking ONLY. If the valet guy is there, you cannot self park. But It's free outside of a tip.- Reservations are not required, but if you want a scenic window table, you must have a reservation.- Slow paced restaurant. This is not somewhere you go for a quick bite. Relax, let things happen at their own pace and, and you'll have a great time!- Prices are reasonable, and in some cases excellent.- As another reviewer commented, The building itself needs some work, it's a little musty and old and could use some inside TLC.We will be back!

Sunny Jim's tavern has been serving our community since 1934. Come and see why we are Pittsburgh's longest running Tavern.
We arrived at a very busy time. There was a gathering after an apparent funeral. We thought with so many people that the service would be slow and the food would be slow coming out of the kitchen. No such thing happened. The service was excellent. The place is clean, and the food very good. Since this seems to be the half way point for the 2 couples coming from opposite directions, we will return. Two things that prevented a 5 star rating. #1, they have Pepsi products (too sweet, ugh) and their beer selection is ordinary and boring. In this day and age, the trend is beers of which their selections in bottles and on tap were tereible. Not one single winter dark beer except Guiness. That's it?! What in the world are they thinking? I would think they would make an effort to be more trendy.

Okay - not a high brow restaurant; more akin to a local diner. But seriously good breakfast fare. Can't comment on lunch. Local and comfortable feel. Breakfast menu has amazing things - if they have it, try the pineapple upside down pancakes! Woudln't recommend corn beef hash, nit because it isn't good - but it isn't hash! It's really lean corned beef. tasted great and complemented the eggs - but hash it ain't! Omelettes are great; egg sandwiches are good. Pancakes are very good, especially specialty. You might have a bit of a wait, depending on what time you get there, and parking don below out back can be a bit of an adventure - but it's worth it! And there's outside seating - if the weather cooperates. Have added it to the "we'll be back" list (and have - multiple times!). Find it and feast!

My wife and I went to Hyeholde to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to make it especially interesting and reserved places at the Chef's Table. We expected to join a few other diners, but on this particular night we were the only 2 there seated at a big table in the kitchen. That made it even better.Led to our table by the owner, then introduced to the exec chef Austin and his staff, we were given special menus for the evening autographed by the whole staff. A nice touch! The staff couldn't have been more professional and personable. They were happy to chat about anything culinary, and didn't mind us looking over their shoulders. The menu consisted of 7 courses plus a complimentary amuse-bouche as a starter, each course presented by Chef Austin with appropriate commentary about its preparation. Since the chef's table menu changes constantly, I won't go into details except to say each course was excellent visually and taste-wise. (see the menu photo). We savored every bite. Even though it was our first visit to Hyeholde, we were treated like VIPs. I think they appreciate customers who are interested in their work and appreciate their product in return. They even seemed to appreciate the very minor critiques we offered. And not once did we hear the dreaded restaurant server phrases - "you guys..." and "still working on that?"

Youâre a charming little wine bar! Very tastefully decorated, charming in fact. A great little bar, comfy couches, you ooze casual, chic comfort. Your menu is different and the food is really good. A great wine list and even a nice selection of beer in bottles. The woman behind the bar matched the place and was perfectly friendly and welcoming.âThatâs only for lunchâ (soup)âWe canât substituteâ (kimchi)What? Can we talk? I get the world has gone all it-takes-90-seconds-to-order-coffee-at-Starbucks, but is that really how you want to turn your clientele away? There were literally 8 people in the place during the dinner hour, you have to be able to be a little flexible in the kitchen with that kind of crowd right? Maybe one is actually the product of the other?I really love the place and the menu and the food. Come on, you can do this, work to make your customers love you more.

The table setup was perfect and the appetizers were great, atmosphere was warming and there was plenty of room. the food was fantastic and even though they don't serve alcoholic beverages the overall experience was well worth. The staff was very accomodating from beginning to end. Great experience and worth it.

I bring my students to the Cafe each year for an authentic French meal and crepe making. Gina and the staff are fantastic! Professional and friendly! We love it! We have had lots of different choices from the menu and the bakery... You will not be disappointed. We also pack a little pastry to go!!!! Great atmosphere and service.

Excellent service, good food, nice atmosphere. I tried the Seared Tuna Salad and cleaned the plate. My friend seemed to enjoy the Salmon Salad, too. I'm including a couple of photos, but you should know that they're missing a few ingredients because that's the way I ordered it (without the noodles or sesame seed topping). The salmon dish shows the walnuts on the side per my friend's request.Everything was fresh, tender and well prepared. I'll go back. There are plenty of options on the menu (as well as their specials) that sounded very good.
